Mondragon stomps the competition

The dust settles over the WCG finals in Germany and the winner is decided. Mondragon's monster zerg skills absolutely decimated his opposition and secured his place in the WCG Grand Finals

Mondragon made zerg look easy this WCG. Starting out against ObliVionStone and mowing through kAra, GeNtLeMaN and Jogy before facing HoRRoR in the finals. Throughout the entire event Mondragon only dropped a single game against Jogy.

The finals themselves were played on Blue Storm and Andromeda. The first game on Blue Storm was a rather entertaining micro war, as it turned out. HoRRoR floated a factory over a cliff and produced two sneaky vultures, hoping to catch some drones. His micro was a bit off however, the first vulture getting trapped by zerglings after only a few kills and the second vulture went down after a combination of sunken colony and zergling. The rest of the game belonged to the air, with some nice wraith micro by HoRRoR, picking all the drones at Mondragon's natural. Mondragon however simply built scourge and mutas and then rounded off with a large hydralisk push that popped HoRRoR's wraiths like balloons. The second game on Andromeda was a disappointing failed 2 rax proxy by HoRRoR. Instead of a 12 hatch he found a bunch of zerglings waiting for him, tearing him apart with ease.

HoRRoR and Jogy runners up

So HoRRoR came in second after losing to Mondragon, but the third place was a surprise to many. Bets were on iNfeRnaL or GeNtLeMaN to make it, but instead faculty's Jogy who managed to make it all to the end of the winner's bracket, where he even managed to supply Mondragon with his only loss.

So Mondragon, HoRRoR and Jogy end up being Germany's representatives in Cologne for the WCG Grand Finals.
