In 2005 Blizzard gave the communities of Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo a two day event which saw activities such as invitational tournaments, a chance to play their then upcoming products, contests, live performances and much more. Get you calendars ready; on the 3rd of August 2007 Blizzcon returns.
One of the biggest events in 2005 within the Starcraft and Warcraft communities was Blizzcon; two days where gamers got together and enjoyed events put on by the creators of the games we all love. Now a year and a half has passed by. Many may have thought that Blizzcon was a one off event; we now know that this is not true.
Yesterday Blizzard announced that Blizzcon 2007 will be held on the 3rd and 4th August at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Tickets will cost $100 US.
In their press release on Blizzards homepage, they list that the following activities will take place:
Discussion panels with Blizzard developers Artist and developer signings Competitive and casual tournaments WOW Trading Card Game tournaments and demos Costume, machinima, and character sound-alike contests Commemorative merchandise A silent auction Live orchestral performances of music from Blizzard games Source: Blizzard's press release |
Blizzard also states that more activities will be announced in the future. As time goes on Blizzard will be releasing more information on the Blizzcon homepage.
