Strelok just won the GosuGamers Christmas Final tournament and zoxxer caught him for an interview. He reveals a few interesting things. Read on.
Hi Strelok! You just won the final in the GosuGamers Christmas tournamnt final tour. How does it feel?
Hi, not bad really
The map system we used was a bit unusual. The starting map for each round was a user made map that was selected in a map competition. After that the loser could chose map from a pool with more known maps. Could you give a comment on that/the maps?
Idea was great and new maps were funny. I never played them and got a lot of fun playing new maps in tourney. I do not like to play new maps just for fun but in touney it's ok. I made lots of strategies there which i never use in normal games.
Could you tell us a little of your matches? Any of them you remember specially?
Well i liked game vs breakdown in one of those new maps. I started with CC 12 in ground map and he decided to press me from 1 base. So it was mirror tvz match, because usually zerg takes hatchery 12 and terran presses it.
Sounds promising for the replay. When you are not participating in GosuGamers tournaments your clan TmG plays in SCCL. How has that been for you so far?
Well team TMG is doing not bad there but i'm not satisfied with my rezults there - too many unexpected loses. Though i'm not TMG anymore, i decided to leave that team and manager already knows about my decision
So this was pretty much your last appearance with the TmG tag?
Yes, you're right, i think that was last my TMG appearance. i do not think my reason is so private. I never quarelled with any TMG member, e.t.c.. The reason is that i was offered contract and didn't like it. All ppl in TMG signed or going to sign it and i refused to do that. So i see no sense to stay there.
Okay. You left MgZ for TmG ealier, if I do not mistake myself. As they are playing in SCCL as well, will you consider rejoining them, or do you have any other offers from other teams?
Yes i got some offers from top teams, but i doubt i will come back to MgZ. I'm thinking what team to select. Now i'm 3D member, because i was both 3D and TMG and most of top teams do not agree double teaming. I respect 3D team very much, have lot of friends there, not only internet, but also real life, so it's really very hard just to leave also this team for another, the only one. So i need to think hardly indeed, what to select, not to make mistake.
Ah, I understand. You are also playing in the GGL AmeriCups. How is your performance there so far, and what do you think about your future there? Will you go to next round, and what do you think about your chances there?
I'm now 4-1 there and in the first place in my group. My main opponent is Yan, my country-man. We meet next week and the winner will get first place in group, though looser also has not bad chances to qualify from second place. To perform good in play-offs first of all i need to finish in 1 place in my group. Then i won't get the strongest players in the beginning. And to do that i need to win Yan.
Do you think you will beat him then?
I will do my best, though it wil be hard because i have exams now and need to study hard.
