Inaugural WPT Venice Main Event Begins

With the recent predictions that the newly regulated Italian poker market should double in size this year, the Word Poker Tour has launched the WPT series with a new Venice stop. The €3,000 main event is running February 3rd through the 8th and their €10,000 High Rollers event taking place February 7th through the 9th at the luxurious Casino Municipale di Venezia.

Poker pros and celebrities playing Day 1A include football legend Francesco Totti who joins Max Pescatori, Fabrice Soulier, Claire Renault, Fabian Holling, Martin Jacobson, Bruce Atkinson, Steven Van Zadelhoff, Dragan Galic, Giovanni Rizzo, Sam El Sayed, Jose Nacho Barbero, and Giovanni Safina as notables playing today's main event.

Ten 60 minute levels are scheduled for play and as they enter level 10 of Day 1A there are 101 out of 218 starting players remaining.
