In between watching games, taking photos, playing Guitar Hero in 3D and ogling the promo girls, GG.net found time to catch up with a few of the players and ask them for their thoughts on DotA and the ESWC. Here's what they said:

GG: What is your favourite DotA hero and player?
Remstar: Skeleton King, and probably (clanmate) Hitomi
GG: What do you consider imbalanced in the current league patch? (6.52e)
Remstar: Well there are a lot of really strong heros, Terrorblade and Dragon Knight etc, that good teams can form strong pushing strategies around. Also there are some heros you have to ban every game, like Omniknight.
GG: What changes would you like to see in the next patch? (6.54b>)
Remstar: Nerfs to Spider, DK, TB and Omni.
GG: What would you like to change about ESWC next year?
Remstar: Well having Single Elimination brackets after the group stage is silly, it should be Double Elimination. You can make one wrong pick/ban and suddenly you're out of the tournament.
GG: What is the most satisfying kind of kill to get in DotA?
Remstar: When you're getting ganked by lots of heros, and you get away, and turn around on like, 100hp and kill someone.

MYM: There are so many, Broodmother can have so many webs and they give way too much vision. DK armour and ultimate, Visage's ultimate, Terrorblade. Omniknight. There is a lot.

MYM: All of the above.
GG: What would you like to change about ESWC next year?
MYM: No 'Best of 1' format after the group stage, should make it 'Best of 3'. At least from the semi-finals on.
GG: What is the most satisfying kind of kill to get in DotA?
Maelk: Battle Hunger level 1! Fear: Getting ganked and killing both heros Merlini: When you one-shot someone with a PA crit. Pusher: When you kill one of your teammates! ^^

LightCat: Pudge Darkarax: Juggernaut
GG: What do you consider imbalanced in the current league patch? (6.52e)
LightCat: I think its actually pretty balanced, there are lots of counters to most of the strats. Darkarax: Well you need to have one of the initating heros like Tide/Shaker/Puck or you are screwed.
GG: What changes would you like to see in the next patch? (6.54b>)
LightCat: Well I hope they put back Tide's ulti range to what it used to be. Darkarax: Nerf Lycan and Puck.
GG: What would you like to change about ESWC next year?
LightCat: Its pretty well organised. The players should be able to watch each others games though. Darkarax: They should put chairs out by the big screen so people can watch.
GG: What is the most satisfying kind of kill in DotA?
LightCat: When you are being beaten badly and you start to make a comeback. Darkarax: When I rape 1v5!

Yamateh: QoP / Loda
GG: What do you consider imbalanced in the current league patch? (6.52e)
Yamateh: Visage's ulti. Very hard to clear all the bats. Cooldown is too fast.
GG: What changes would you like to see in the next patch? (6.54b>)
Yamateh: Changes that will make the game more skill based rather than item based.
GG: What would you like to change about ESWC next year?
Yamateh: There was too little time between some of the games. Very full schedule. Also some of the marshals were a little biased when it came to picking. They would strictly observe the 1 min time limit for picks with some teams but not with others.
GG: What is the most satisfying kind of kill in DotA?
Yamateh: When 3 people come to gank me and I escape and kill one. Also when you get a kill with a nice PotM arrow/Pudge hook.
