The Gigabyte Mineski Pro-Gaming League (GMPGL) is back for its 5th season, and it promises to be bigger than ever.

For those who don't know, the GMPGL runs a promotion-demotion class system. This time though, they made some changes to the process.

From the Class A and Class S system they used last year, they will have 3 classifications this year. Class B, or Branch Elimination, is added.

Class B tournaments will be held on 16 different Mineski and/or their affiliates' branches, and winners of each branch will advance to Class A. Class A will be the battle of the 16 Branch Champions, and as before, the top 2 teams will advance into the Class S Bracket. Also, the last 2 teams of the Class S bracket will be demoted back into Class B on the following leg.

Prize Pool and Media Exposure also better on the higher branches.

The Mineski Events Team also acknowledged the effect of Dota 2 on the current top Philippine teams, thus, Class S teams will not be pre-invited this gaming season. Instead, the Top 8 teams from Class A will be seeded into the first leg of the Class S Division.

Of course, the games will be streamed and cast as well. The well-known duo of Lon and TryQ will cover all games of the Class S Division. Every leg will have a PHP 64,500 (US$ 1600~) prize pool.

Class B will start this 20 January, and will have morning and afternoon brackets.
