Nirvana's Seaking in the spotlight at Team Razer page
Posted by Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand 4 months ago

Yang "Seaking" Tao is Chinese-based Nirvana's carrier and one of their most important player in 2011. With a silver medal at SMM 2011, a fourth place in World DotA Championship and the first place in the WCG China Wuhan qualifier, Nirvana further cemented themselves as one of the premiere Chinese DotA teams.
In a spotlight article on the team's sponsor page, the fans can get to know the Luoyang son in depth. In it, we find out that he regrets not starting DotA earlier.
- "If I played it earlier, I would have become a legendary player by now!" said Seaking who started competitive DotA as late as in 2009. As many progamers tell, Seaking did not have receive that much support when spilling his ambitions of becoming a professional player.
- "I really wanted to achieve something in DotA to change people's opinions about this career path, to prove to them that it's not just about playing games," says Seaking.
We also get to know what he thinks is the key to his success with the game.
- "I think it's because I have my own ideas of how to play. Compared to other professional gamers, my performance is stable; I don't make big mistakes," he says but at the same time admits that he has a lot to learn when it comes to communication and leadership.
- "I also think that if I had invested the same amount of time in another game I would not have been as successful. DotA is well suited to me because it's mainly about teamwork," says Seaking.
Nirvana are currently playing in the DreamCup Winter season. With six losses in a row, the team holds a 3-7 score after 10 playdays. Up next is the overall fourth-ranked team PanDa.

time admits thyat he has a typo error |
I really wanted to achieve something in DotA thats never gonna happen with 357 |
"Compared to other professional gamers, my performance is stable". yep, constant worse then burning, zhou, hao, ...
FYS hell yeah why not
lmao #3
Oo? Since when did we call carry players as carriers?
bold statement right there, sick-king. lel
whaT ?? "Compared to other professional gamers, my performance is stable; I don't make big mistakes" compare with burning, zhou, hao, even ZSMJ .. u're still too young my bro... burning in level university with zhou ZSMJ , sylar, hao ini level senior high school... then u still in kindergarden
good luck
If he was talking about his performance in TyLoo FY Seaking In Nirvana average carry but sometimes So Pro
Hope they will bring back their own shinny days.
#8: ??? Do u know Sunny.Seaking? Tyloo.Seaking? It's very stupid to say Seaking < HAO,Sylar...
FY Seaking! lol at MrBlue's comment
#12: Hao and Sylar are way better than Seaking right now, this metagame ain't suiting him at all. When he was "owning" the metagame was basically afk-farm on lane whole game, and that's how he got his fame with his Morph/Medusa, his Kunkka was also awesome.

seems to me that some people are not grasping that "more stable" doesn't mean "better", you don't see seaking giving away games due to over-aggressiveness or over extension of formations the way hao, sylar, or even zhou did. As for seaking not "owning" nowadays, dota is a team effort after all, many decisions, especially the overall play style, are made on the team level, and the slump faced by dai and 357 are pretty obvious. However, it's true that "stable" was more often than not used to describe a carry playing passively, or safely, opting to go for economic advantages instead of situational advantages, which is getting somewhat irrelevant since pushing became the main theme of dota, and even more so in the current era of ganking examplified by ck, sladar, panda, bh, etc, so it's really hard to define what's "stable" now. btw zsmj just said hao's best at farming, and burning's the best with positioning #19 nope, i don't think seaking is among the best carry, i'm just saying that he has been one of the most stable carries. FYI I only like 2 dota players, PIS because he shows you that you never knew how to play dota in his videos, and niuwa because he's fking epic.
#18 seaking fanboy. anwz seaking is good but i dont think he would have been legendary by now if he had started playing earlier. FY seaking for making those bold statements.. thinking you're already too good. Burning > Seaking anytime anyday. Dai is more valuable than him tbh.
stable performance doesn't mean anything. he could also refer to their impressive lose streak. but chinese troll never happens
guys quit hating on FYSK remember old tyloo days when tyloo were no1 or no2? that was when FYSK raped all
too cocky !!!!
#22 not really cocky.
Never too late to make a mark at the scene! He's good, but not as legendary as SK.LodA or YaphetS.
FYS
#24 pis is not a legend at all...i mean he was on pro worldwide scene about year and a half...dont get me wrong he was marvelous player, lets just say he is one of dota icons..xD
Yup Tyloo times were better but his still good.
#26 when you are the best player with an especific hero, you are reknown in all world as bes sf of all times and more important you have your name(nick) in that hero you are a legend icefrog put "yaphets" on sf bcuz he is a legend
I think he meant the word "stable" in a completely different way than you guys understand it. He did not say he's better than anybody, did he?
#28 ok fair enough, but hes not as big legend as loda, merlini, vigoss...in ur face!
Fuck Yeah Seaking...!!
IMO, I didn't find arrogance in his statement it's just he let out what could've been/should've been. After all who doesn't want to be the best? Stable doesn't mean better but with his "stability" it just doesnt seem to fit the current metagame.
#28 tbh, Yaphets not a legend, but he able to Show the entire world, the Full potential of Shadow Fiend. Outrageous, Rampage, Epic...or whatever you say It was like, Demon's BM, Vigos's Potm or Puppey's Chen or any other Pro's Signature Heroes. That why i think, Icefrog put Yaphets Name on SF as a Honour and Respect. But to become a Legend PLayer, is a whole another story. Legend like, Loda, Merlini or Vigoss has their own trademark and a development. -Merlini was the one who develope Pulling and stacking creep, Tango-wood-juking. along with his sign Heroes such as Beasmaster and Zeus. -Loda Showed Global strat, made enemy lost their tactics and planning, along with his sign heroes such as Slardar, Spectre. -Vigoss showed how to Ganking with Ramboness style and everone said that Epic. with his Sign heroes such as Potm, Puck, QoP. So...for Seaking who Has not develop anything (yet), And His Sign Heroes still not able to show a Full potential (yet)...that will be a Long Road to go...
I don't know what people consider 'legend' if they don't think PIS is one. People probably know about YaphetS before they know about DotA. #33 He can play most of every hero to its somewhat full potential. But he took Shadow Fiend and played it BEYOND that. That's why his known for that.
YaphetS aka PIS IS A LEGEND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not those shitty players!!!
#34 #35 RGC 2010, Game 3 MYM vs Nv.Cn - Game 4 http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/39465 thefaslife.com (demon) SF vs Nv.Cherry.Dgp (PIS) Lion. with Lion, Pis couldnt do Much...as a Expert SF User, PIS should know how to handle his own Boner :D BTW, Back to topic, about Seaking not PIS...
Seaking's trademark hero is Morph FYSK!!
#37 compare burning morp is nothing.. he could farm like hell 22 min 200 cs #35 PIS not a legend ... compare with the others pro SF player like ckk , nada , 2009... PIS same level with them #33 +99 ... u can call someone legend if they made something excited n never forget till now example : lakuci lanaya from XcN .... then jungling TerrorBlade from him is awesome.. also, ritter meepo.. loda screaming at that time lakuci TB's vs TeG http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/13395 this meepo of doomsday from asia vs SK era http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/13539 vs +46 http://www.gosugamers.net/dota/replays/14104
Seaking I support you though it is hard to get back to being a tier1 team with your teammates who aren't really focused on DotA man. Just goodluck
#38 chauvinism Good Luck nirvana, hope you can stop the losing spree
#2 good job mission accomplished :D
I'm a fan of TyLoo days, but Seaking < Burning Seaking < ZSMJ Seaking < Zhou Seaking < Hao I'm having a hard time too figuring out that "stability" of him. He's a good farmer though, but not better YET.
Jeez, all you Seaking haters should calm the hell down. He wasn't being cocky or anything, he was just stating his opinion about the stability of his performance vis a vis other progamers. Being STABLE means that his performance is more or less the same in every game. And performance-wise, he is a very good carry player. He achieved something that you guys can only dream of - class. If you've been watching replays (and not just staring at the monitor) you would see the point. Read and think before you post crap like Hao, ZSMJ, etc.. > Seaking.
I think the interpretation doesn't show it's original meaning, otherwise only results can prove one is a excellent carry!
