OSI victorious at eSport Universe

Russian underdog attender OSI surprisingly made happen, what no one dared to expect. The until now, relatively unknown team got the better of Moscow5 in a thrilling final series and can proudly lift the biggest check of Moscow's eSport Universe tournament, worth converted €1500.

The Retry, M5, dM and OSI advanced from a six-team-groupstage, leaving BIC and the invited ToM behind. Pgg, supported by Russian high-calibre players like LightofHeaven and Vein then fell short to Moscow5 in the semi finals, while OSI erased Belarusian attender devilMice out of the tournament.

Having performed at the peak of their potential all day, after reaching the grand final, the obstacle M5 seemed to be insuperable for the dark horse at first.

By fielding a strong tripple lane of Rogue Knight, Crystal Maiden and Necro'lic, M5 fought an even battle on bottom against the regularly seen aura combination of Vengeful Spirit and Drow Ranger, completed by a Beastmaster on mid grounds. As the mid-game phase began, M5 seemed to have found their rythm making better use of their long-ranged spells and winning decisive clashes through it. Relying on a well farmed Drow Ranger, OSI started to defend better and better towards the end, endangering M5 of falling short. As one push after a successful fight at the Roshan pit finally ended in the Scourge's favour, the world tree fell at last, turning the series 1-0.

While M5 opted for a semi-push strategy, with a farmed Lone Druid as tank, backed by Netherblast-spam and Fissures, OSI put together a versatile lineup, with which they managed to turn close to all aggressive attempts of M5 down. Throughout the game, NS and co found themselves outganked several times, yet managed to prolong the game by fighting doggedly until the end. The world tree took a fall after roughly 44 minutes nontheless and the series was tied.

The concluding highlight of the tournament, featuring unorthodox hero choices on both sides: Until the fourty-minute-mark, neither side was able to develop an advantage over their counterparts in the offensively played game, featuring clashes at minute intervals. Particularly recognizing one or more players performances, would be unjustified as all actors played at an evenly high level. OSI managed to stay strong in this back and forth game however, which until the last fight would not reveal a champion.

This means the first tournament victory for OSI in the team's history, followed by M5 and TR who beat devilMice in the small final.
