DotA World Cup announced

The long awaited, DotA World Cup organized by Loveen is finally announced!When the Nirvana organization was first formed, founder, Loveen has expressed interest in organizing a DotA World Cup. Nothing much was heard since then. Until now that is. A total prize pool of 300,000 RMB (approx 35,000 Euro) is up for grab with the champion taking home a huge chunk of it.
The event will be split into two phases, an online qualifier and an offline Finals. Qualifiers will be split into four regions, which are Europe/America, Asia, China(professional), China(College). Four teams from each qualifier will then head to WuHan, China to play in the Grand Final event due to be held sometime in November.
As there would be sixteen teams in total at the LAN event, the sixteen teams would then be placed in four groups of four and the top two teams from each group will proceed to the playoffs. The eight that proceeds will be guaranteed $1500 USDeach.

| A few things to say: 1) I thought at least 3 of EHOME's core players were retiring already (820, 357, Burning). If they already have, EHOME would be much weaker and the question would be would EHOME qualify, or let alone even play? 2) All this talk about "failure to pay" should have been clarified on Nirvana's site long ago. If you don't clear it up, you pretty much deserve to continuously receive shit talk about how you don't pay. It doesn't take more than 10-15 minutes to write a detailed enough explanation of the situation. 3) Best of luck to NWO - I'm interested in how well they can revive their synergy. 4) I'm still curious of what the division "China (College)" means. I've viewed and played a few DotA games in China, as well as against a number of overseas Chinese studying in USA, and almost all of them played really poorly. Don't get me wrong, I still personally believe that Chinese DotA is the best in the world (partly from national pride, haha). But Chinese college students? As I've stated, I'm really curious about what will happen in this division. ---------------------------- As for predictions, if EHOME is still playing with 820, 357, and Burning, and taking in account that I believe in Kuroky, Puppey, Miracle (ex-Ks.int veterans), then: Champions:  EHOME1st Runner-up:  NWO2nd Runner-up:  DTS3rd Runner-up:  MYMIf EHOME isn't playing, or is playing without 820 and 357 (perhaps even missing Burning), then perhaps my prediction stands as: Champions: NWO1st Runner-up: DTS2nd Runner-up: MYM3rd Runner-up: LGD.sGty |

Dont you overestimate the latest success of Ehome ?  There are at least 4 top chinese teams out there which can battle it out with anyone on the planet on LAN, even if Ehome somehow wont qualify. The regional qualifiers makes sure we will see 4 chinese pro and 4 chinese (high lvl pub? dunno what colleges play), along with the best from malaysia, singapore, vietnam, thailand, etc. 4 teams from EU/america is a bit weak imo. America surely doesnt deserve same amount of spots like asia - china (no offense), but they will have a hard time against EU teams with Hostbots and the huge number of strong european teams. I dont think we will see a single NA, SA team for this reason.  EU/America: DTS, LOST, MYM + OK/NWO/German team ? |

| no other team from EU can stop Chinese from dominating. if you think practicing 3-5 hours in online game and camp booting for several games can do better, in Chinese, they are training very hard for atleast months and they practice clanwar with the strong teams. Chinese will make other teams noob again when they face them. |

| Loveen is not supposed to pay someone who is not officially in his organization and has not signed a contract. Loveen is not supposed to sign contracts with bunch of kids jumping from team to team. Loveen wont sign contracts and pay to people that dissrespect his organization. It is like me asking Microsoft to pay me, when I am not working for them... Isnt it enough Demon to say that Loveen will pay out the cash for your to be convinced that this tournament is going to happen. Not quete sure but arent all the chn teams and even lgd.sgty college teams? Someone with more insides explain about the college division in China. |

| @all Kuro fanboys: nWo doesn't even have a sponsor yet, they've got like 1 and a half month to find a sponsor that will send them to china. Yeah they're all pros n stuff but they've all hopped so much teams in the last 2 years. I'm not sure they'll find a sponsor. | Thats what i wanna hear.This is really nice for dota community. Now on topic if lost eu replace miracle with another carry-semicarry(demon for example would be able to play his BM and his ratletrap)then i have high hopes for these guys. Lets not gorget that 13abyknight was REALLY good in eswc and helped MyM a lot. I believe that 13baby along with Misery and someone else might have i chance. Nwo is expected to own(they always do at first months) I dont believe MyM can do a lot unlees THEY replace lacoste with a really talented player like they did in ESWC.(nothing personal with lacoste just ndont believe he is good enough for MyM) About the asian scene i dont know much.I guess ehome nirvana.ch and lgd to own. |

| Kind of agree with #51, 12 out of 16 teams from asia, 8 of which are from China. While I don't have anything against the format of the tournament, as top chinese teams have proven they're superior, I don't think the name is appropriate. btw, was Korok's trip to ESWC paid for by Loveen? If so I think it's ridiculous if puppey didn't get paid. Otherwise it's understandable, but still you'd think there'd be agreements on it up front. Then again Puppey didn't need to travel as far as the americans I guess. |
