Relive one of the most epic matches in DotA history with some nice commentary to boot. This game is between the old school MYM vs the Russian powerhouse Virtus.Pro.Credits to InvalidCola for the cast.

| everything evolves, same as gameplay and player's skill, even the map changed a lot, so just don't compare like that :)) it's them who create strat, item build, hero usage / give inspiration to the next era. have you ever compared ppl from century 18 and 20? |

| Man I started playing dota in 5.84b... like 7-8 years ago. And back in the day these were the matches that everyone would get hyped up for. You can't say they were less skilled, or more skilled. It's hard to tell. Like comparing Pele and Ronaldinho, or Maradona and Messi in soccer. You just can't do that, because the game has changed so much. Back then farming was a battle. A deny, was a full 100% exp deny. A tower deny meant 0 gold. There were less creeps, no siege creeps, and forests were very different. Jungling was way less productive then today, pulls were harder, less big camps (1 per forest), and even medium camps were hard to clear. So you are stuck in lane with people trying hard for denies (very important, for levels back then) and less creeps coming your way.. off course your gonna be under-farmed compared to today. So people would go nuke/aoe/gank heavy. And after blinkdaggers were coming out on the main ganking heroes, good luck getting farming done. Principally, when it was not 2 sets of obs wards that you could buy, it was either 3 or more. I think back in 5.84 it was infinite or something, or very small cd on wards. Bottom line is, people trash talking old dota are ignorant. People saying that today's dota is less fun are also ignorant, because that is only a matter of opinion and personal taste. That era however, was when I was in love with the game, and games like this would leave me in awe. |

| This was hardly an action packed game. The laning phase was alright, the 50 minute mid-game was boring as fuck. I suppose the end was exciting, but only because both teams farmed for so long and had the items to win it in a few seconds if given the chance. |
| It's so funny how most people lack basic understanding of dota history and dota in general yet they bash players/teams like they have a right to. Like i said time and time again dota nowadays it's based entirely on farming and farming and farming and farming . Just look at the picks from that version and check common picks today. Dota has changed shitloads since the older versions ,comparing today's players with the players back then is just like saying Pele would not stand a chance in today's modern football (even though that's true ,Pele is still remembered as the best footballer of all time). At first idiots spilling bullshit were funny but it gets annoying after more and more braindead assholes talk shit like euro >asia , asia>euro ,lgd>ehome, nv.hu<lost.kz it gets boring and step by step we realize that dota players need to grow the f^%k up and play more rather than talk shit about others. I saw the game then (i don't remember if i saw it live or i got hold of the replay from somewhere ) i saw it again 1 year ago (i think) and i'm going to watch it again today. This game is the definition of the word EPIC ,between 2 of the best dota clans ever (if not the best). hf watching it |

| Comparing vp vs mym to pele football days is just DOWN RIGHT RETARDED. Compare this, football was born in like 1880 or something, the first World cup was 1930 or sth. STFU about the pele stfu, football had like 100 years of developement. Dota back then had 2-3 of "pro" scene. Dota today is WAY higher level than back then, stop the fanboyish. I go way back to coL era. I can say this. Dota has evolved and it's better balanced, harder and more "pro". Back vp vs mym era, was like MYM PRIDE BEST tourney ever, or ASUS. Today is serious shit in asia/china. Cant say EU takes it very serious. VP was a good team that ruled for like a year a pro scene with 10-12 AT MOST teams. Mostly EU teams,with lag difference at tourneys. Look now with SMM, ESWC, many sponsors and shit. Just hear the truth, vp was good back then, thats it. they are NOT the best ever. Theres no such thing. Pelé is considered the best for financial porpuse. Stop being naive and close-minded. Thanks. Waiting for the flame. |

| actually very nice moves from both team, the arrow ars-art managed to put on void with the help of sven was jus sick teamplay show, and the combo void and tinker put up together with ulti from void + close laser rocket was awesome too. a lot of ganks from vigoss and admiration, MYM kinda turned into "turtling", backing up void all the time. seriously admiration wasn't 10 times better than vigoss, he landed awesome stuff but vigoss has been so annoying for MYM, tinker just couldn't leave base in early game because vigoss could kill him alone, and viper+lina were so afraid of his roam too btw it is interesting to see how roles were not clearly defined: NS had a lot of creep kills for a support hero, same goes to lina while tinker only had 30 cs x) only void was clearly carrying commentator was good, i LOVE the moment when vigoss died from aegis, respawn and... omg where is sven? Actually commentator forgot that old aegis make you respawn to base x) "wait i grab some tea... gluups aaah" imo lina, tinker and leshrac were a bit disapoiting but that's only my opinion, tinker had good presence and nice moves but the crappiest farm i ever saw for a tinker, and by far... even in pub i always saw better farm than this x) I don't think support tinker was a good idea after they realized he was unarmed against such roam from vigoss and admiration. anyway gg wp both team. |
