Prior to their match against ToT at IEM, EHOME's 820 and Burning took the time off to do a video interview with Chinese site 163.com which can be seen below. For those not well versed in Chinese, GosuGamers provides the translated English transcript for your viewing pleasure.Hello everyone, this is 163.com reporting live from 2010's ChinaJoy exhibition. 820: Hell everybody, I am the leader for EHOME, 820.
Burning: Hello, I'm Burning.
Not long ago, EHOME won the title of ESWC10 for Dota. How does it feel to win such a big event?
820: Very happy, this is afterall the first time we won an international competition.
Burning: Very happy to have won it.
What do you think about the skill level of European and Asian DotA?
820: I think Asian DotA is way above European DotA. Asian teams put more emphasis onto good team chemistry, not to mention each player is individually very strong.
There are some comments saying that DotA isn't really taken seriously as an eSport due to the fact that the game is not very viewer-friendly. What do you think about that?
820: Definitely, if you don't play DotA, you will definitely not understand it. It's not like StarCraft where you can still understand what's happening just by watching a game.
Burning: DotA games are dragged out too long and there are sometimes not many wars to watch.
Do you think this is the reason that DotA is not considered a true eSport at events such as WCG?
820: I think it has something to do with the sponsors actually.
What are the goals for the team for the year?
820: To win as many titles as possible. We already got into the finals at IEM and then we have the national eSports open in mid August. There's more in the works, but those are the ones that are closer.
Whats a day like for you guys?
820: If there are any big tournaments coming up, we will spend a lot more time training. If there isn't, we usually just spend an hour or two training.
There are rumors that you(820) are retiring at the end of the year.
820: Yeah. I think I have reached my peak and I am ready to retire. I may retire earlier than expected.
Then what are your future plans? To be a commentator?
820: I'm thinking of finding work at a gaming company; somewhere where I feel comfortable.

| I really wanna know how those euro funboys' react when the excuse they had keep Claiming that Chinese dotaer play 24/7 is not real; instead they play even less then many euro players. |

EU DOTA is above Asia ... only EHOME play above all others (Don't know anything about LGD.sgty because they didn't participate in ESWC) Europe got many pro teams like TeG,MyM,Lost.eu,DTS and many others that can play better or equal with all Chinese teams (exept with EHOME,but i truly think that TeG is almost on same level of skill like EHOME) China got level 1 skill clans like EHOME , LGD.sgty and Nirvana.cn , level 2 skill clans ToT , Deity barely would have a chance against teams like DTS or MyM... So we got EHOME that play perfect on every tournament ... ok ... but that doesn't mean that Asia > EU ... Aeon got defeated from Bulgarian clan , Reborn won just 1 game , Nirvana.cn got smashed in second group-stage and PlayLife got 2 defeats ...so don't shit about EU dota ...  |
| #153. Will u stop plz.Lgd would own euro same way as ehome did if they went through, so the nv.cn could. I bet u do not know much about asian teams. Many of top Asian players were no in eswc, and don't foget the sb, they won the acg but they didn't appear as well. I didn't see any chances when top euro team faced ehome , but many of Chinese team could win or give them big trouble. Anyway really sick of this kind of topic. |

| @#82 i pretty much think not mate;)...trust me because i know what i`m saying..all the us does is try to overwhelm other weak countries just to gain strategic advantage over the ones whom they really fear (Russia,China,India) ... take it like this..although India is a poor country overall she holds the 2nd most powerful nuclear force on the planet and furthermore they also got the most devastating chemical and biological weapons of all (ever heard of the Red Fever?...of course not,even your weak government has no idea how this weapon was made) ... so please cut it with the "We R Nukin` Ur Ass" type of being because at the end of the day its your twin-towers and pentagon who got trashed ;). OT: Indeed gg.net does a sucky job with the headlines...maybe a "820 announced/confirmed his retirement" would of done a better job...even more,you could take out parts of the interview where a eu vs asia debate is questioned and nuke the ones who can read the full interview somewhere else and start trolling here about the missing parts of the article..but it seems you`re a long way from being good news editors...get it?.. editors ... meaning you can always edit an article....and google translator is kinda bad too. |
