Six Points not enough for Nirvana.cn!
Posted by Ulrich "KongoTime" Hanten 1 year ago
The chinese powerhouse packs its bags, finishing in 3rd place of Shanghais IEM Groupstages.
After hours of DotA, containing 6 games played in total, the squads from
LGD.sGty and Deity will advance to the Playoffs. The gap between them and Nirvana.cn however was not a big one. By taking a look at the results and standings, apart from 4th place finisher Bupt, all teams have 6 points next to their name.
With the three teams getting caught in a three way tie, the Organinsing Committe decided to count the number of direct kills (kills from each game against Bupt excluded) and take them as a reference.
The results from the relevant Groupstage matchups are:
LGD.sGty 27 - 34
Nirvana.cn
LGD.sGty 33 - 19
Deity
Nirvana.cn 21 - 41
DeityAccording to that, both LGD and Deity got 60 while Nirvana.cn only finishes in third with 55 kills.
With such a thrilling outcome of Day 1, more action yet to follow tomorrow. Stick with GosuGamers for the Gosubets, replays and updates from the events.

|
this is such a retarded way to do a tiebreaker pity that fairness in the competitive scene is being sacrificed for convenience
really not fair for nirvana.cn
i think the VN people should not get involve as this will only make this worst
Decision is final
OMG Deity with 41 ? what's happen with LGD and NV.Cn come on go top!
lol on viatnamese fanboy out here.. come on guys.. i know SB is damn good shape atm.. but they are not is this tourney.. so stop all the bullshit about SB pawn that and that.. wait till SMM if SB really want to stomped chinese teams.. [if they dont come out with another excuses this time] danny@ thanks a lot dude.. i was like stay up for 7+ hours for stream/replays.. but nothing..at least you did tell us what happen.. kudos for you..
what the fuck is this shit -__- ? #29 , #48 Agree #52 : stop bring the hate to Vietnam -_- SB does not attend to IEM => no game for SB => fans boy stfu plz. stop comparing TEAM > TEAM. you bring the disgrace to my country and my city. Imagining this : Spain won the world cup and brazil didnt qualify for the world cup and since brazil is no.1, u can not just say brazil > spain -_- grow the fuck up
This sort of rule sucks for my playstyle because I like to suicide for the win.
^ ya imagine some teams like to get kills for kills or suicide for barracks just to get the game over with.. more info: http://bbs.sgamer.com/html/Post_412013.html Deity's nangua explaint what they did.. seems reasonable.. KongoTime u can translate it
the idea wasnt stupid because deity beat nv.cn, nv.cn beat lgd. lgd beat deity so the only thing they could do was base it on kills and i think it was the rite idea. the rule was after all the matches was finish so ya i thought it was gud
It's not fair for Nv.Cn, indeed! However, how could the problem be solved? Play 3 more games? No! Using an extra criterion is appropriate, I think. K/D rate is ok. Just like in Soccer, we use Goal rate for those equal-score teams, right? Hope that Deity and LGD will perform their best later.
ya K/D Ratio is better than Total Kills..
Sadly, K/D ratio of Nv.Cn is still worse than LGD and Deity's: Nv.Cn: 55/68 LGD: 60/53 Deity: 60/54 So, what to say? Bye bye Nv.Cn then!
in #68, the story is like this: before the last round, the German organizer gathered team leaders of lgd, nv.cn, and deity and a chinese judge, asking what would happen if there was a tie. They asked for re-match, but the German organizer said no because there were no time for re-match. So all three team leader agreed to count the kill, before the last round Deity:LGD.sGty and Nirvana.cn:Bupt. The aftermath is about a miscount done by the organizer, which might wrongly let LGD out. And team leader of LGD protested, and the organizer realize the mistake and changed it to the correct one. So, the rule is bad, but it was agreed by both teams.
Sorry, I refer the link of #65
ya.. NV.cn will lose no matter how they count if they use Kills as a criteria.. sad..
So really hoping SB could have played. We will never know how those strategies they practiced be executed when their opponent is LGD, Ehome , or Nirvana.cn.
#70 so we could say that before the last round we can consider the players aiming for the most kills possible and at the same time able to win with suitable carries. The teams may have already had a good guess on the possibility of a tie
i hate the rule not only i am the niv.cn fan
nice
lol don't like nv.cn anyways. gogo lgt show us what ya got xD But isn't it kind of stupid to count the kills? after all there could be a team that only tries to push in early mid game with pushing heroes (enigma,brood,..) and doesn't get kills anyways.
