WCG-Asia Day Two recap

WCG-Asia is finally over and we saw Vietnam's StarsBoba emerging victorious once again, defending their WCG-Asia 2009 title.





As with the Group Stages we can clearly see where the surprise for the playoffs happened. Aeon, touted as one of the strongest teams in Asia failed to live up to their name as they lost to Thailand's BBH, ending their bid to keep the trophy on home ground. The rest of the quarter final matches went without any more surprises with Nirvana.my, PEIN and StarsBoba all besting their opponents, sending themselves into the semi-finals.

In the Semi Finals, Nirvana.my literally stomped their counterparts from Korea, ending the game in under 18 minutes of game time. Meanwhile, BBH was unable to continue their wining streak, falling to WCG-Asia 2009 champions, StarsBoba. For the finals we see a repeat of 2009's edition of WCG-Asia, Malaysia vs Vietnam for the trophy.

Interesting thing to note is that Vietnam sent the same representative for 2009 while Malaysia sent INC'Excello. But that does not mean there is a shortage of action. In the finial game, both StarsBoba and Nirvana.my played their hearts out to bring glory to their country. Both teams were neck and neck in terms of kills and engages. It can be an advantage to StarsBoba one minute, and then the tide changes in the next five minutes. Straight from our editor at the event, mR.Jerry-'s mouth "The game was sick all the way."
