Day One of ESWC

Day one of ESWC is over and the usual suspects have qualified to the second group stage with just a few surprises along the road.Day one is finally over! Lots of games were played and the tensions were high as every team tried their best to qualify for the second group stage. But in the end only eight teams could proceed. Check out who was able to proceed in the table below.

In Group A the top ranking teams, MYM and Aeon, was able to pull through and qualify to the second round. However a surprise occured in the group when Bulgaria.DotA was able to defeat ESWC 2008 champions, Aeon. While in Group B, Nirvana.GiGa.int made a clean sweep going undefeated in their group, with DTS trailing behind with two wins and one loss.
As for Group C, Online Kingdom put up an incredible show by beating LOST in their first match and then continuing their momentum by beating CNB and ReBorn to stay high in their group. LOST had to settle with second place with their two wins and one loss.
No surprises in Group D, EHOME and Nv.GiGa.my qualified as expected.
With the first group stages already finished, the organizers have released the brackets for the second group stages which can be seen as follows.

It seems that fans will be treated to a good show as both Nirvana teams are placed in the same group. Who wouldn't want to see the battle of the two teams? In Group B we'll see the two Asian favorites to win, EHOME and Aeon battling it out for supremacy. Place your predictions in the comments below. | I hope the semi finals placement is not random but 1st in A vs 2nd in B and 1st in B vs 2nd of A. So there will be still a significant chance to have 2 of the BIG 4 in the Grand Finals. |

| from what ive seen, group one is pretty sure NV.int and OK. nirvana.my seems rather planless, always doing standard asian picks without conviction. XXF is great, but not THAT good (as maybe mushi is...) Not that MYM is without a chance, but NV.int and OK impressed me the most until now (after all Ehome had not the hard group some ppl expected it to be). group two is sickness all the way. anyone can beat anyone here, except for maybe Ehome, if they dont get outpicked. i dont see AEON walking over LOST and DTS. feels like these will be decided by who got the better momentum. still looking forward for some other strong strats (dont be afraid AEON!!), when it comes to the hard fought winner places. so or so, i hope MYM will make it. | 1: Ok and Nv.int proved to be strong in goup stage. Nv.my had a rather dissapoiting performance. MYM seems to be as storng as ever but i think OK and nv.int r gonna make it. 2: Aeon didnt play too strong. ehome played awesome, especially against nv.my. LOST had an average performance. Didnt got to see any games. First Place will be EHome, second place is rather hard to guess. But i'll go with LOST.(Hope for them to put up a better performance tomorrow. Overall i guess it'll be 1. Ehome 2. Nirvana.int 3. OK 4. LOST |
| First group its gonna be nv.us dont know about the other team. 2nd Prettu sure ehome + aeon. It was probly randomed but they didnt want teams that already had played in the same groups. Turned out well. |
| It will be BO1? I think at this level of competive play it should be BO3 at least. Alwayas there is a chanse for some random fails so... to be more interesting... But ESWC whatever says |

| from what i've seen today, i'd like to see nv.my and lost going down, worst performences from those top teams...imo #64 couldn't say it better i think ehome won't be as close to a lose as vs teg...unless some team actually TRIES something instead of playing cookie cutter cuz ehome is waaay too strong to fall for that.. |

| guys u keep overrating lost and DTS?? i expected from long ago that OK and nv.int will rape them.. OK and nv.int was too much underrated and some of u said that mb eyes will qualify and nv.int out.. they raped in 1st round and they will be 1st and 2nd in 2nd round they will pull it to the final with ehome and aeon and it will be epic.. kky/ppy they present europe vs Asians.. GL PPY and Kky' so far.. the top 4 will be very hard to predict in this form.. aeon/ehome/ok/nv.int anyone can be the first ok is rly good team.. they didn't won EDC from nothing and nv.int is the best in Eu/US scene.. so.. let the time decide and we must w8 and hope for very nice games from those teams and also some rape |
