| First off, this place is the most retarded place to have such a vote, as all users are into DotA. Secondly 80% of the users have no clue about HoN and it's history. I do think this game will take off in 2010, and I've actually done my research. I loved DotA and I love HoN, since I actually gave the game a try, instead of crashing out 10 games in. |

| #65: erm yeah every game has a Story oO or call it background. I think those 80% only READ somewhere that HoN is based on DotA, interpreted based on as 100% copied, and now flame it. You have to play it a little bit more than one game, and you have to acknowledge the fact, that it is NOT DotA with better graphics. I agree with those few trying to explain why HoN hasn't deserved unjustified hate. Although I like DotA more, I think that HoN will have a bright future. |

| HoN has a lot of promise.It's a standalone game,with its own team and a lot of those nice features dota has been missing for a long time. The balance is horrible though,and overall it feels like I'm playing a -em game all the time. I haven't completely given up on HoN,but for the time being I'd much rather play dota. edit:btw,there's a purpose to having such a poll here.To know how much of the community still playing dota is interested in HoN.So far the results say that those who haven't left so far probably won't leave in the near future either.Which is good to know! edit2: and yes,Hon might have better graphics,but dota looks much better! |

| #69 Although I won't start another flamewar against HoN,neither blame its developers,I have to disagree on a few points... HoN is a copy of dota.It's not based on it.They don't copy 100% of it,but MOST of it,they copy for sure.They follow icefrog's balance/addition changes.Most of its heroes are dota heroes with different concepts/names.It has the same AI for creeps,neutrals,spawns,roshans blah blah blah...You can compare it to other MOBAs (the type of game dota is) to see the difference,really. Although it has some great assets,such as reconnection to games,leaver statistics,being hard to multiaccount etc,I believe it would be unfair for icefrog if this game became more popular than dota.And guess what would happen if icefrog stopped developing dota because of this?Not to offend HoN developers,but without him,their game is history.Unless they suddenly decide to follow their own way and develop HoN on their own,and again I doubt they would come anywhere near icefrog's level. That's all. |
| i havent tried it to be honest. but when i tell my friends in real live: hey u should try this game im playing its great fun! then i show it to them, and they go like, wow jezus ur a nerd for knowing all those recipes and knowing how the ai responds to ur actions. thats because dota is realy complicated and that discourages alot of newcomers. if hon is a bit of an easier game, then that would be great cus its easy to pick up. and my friends could play that. and i dont think more than 20% of the current dota players will leave for hon. i think if hon advertises well it could become as big or bigger than dota, and thats not a bad thing. competition is a good thing. |

| Tried it, very unsatisfied. Most of the stuff imported in DotA looks better than their murky, 100000-color graphics, some design concepts are outright bad, voice acting is more than horrible, pubs are no better, icons are unclear, most of the portraits don't have lip-sync or face moving at all (which oh-so-outdated-Warcraft has, and done very well) Too expensive, the engine is just copy-pasted Warcraft engine with a couple of quirks here and there. If DotA didn't exist, I'd play HoN, but otherwise, I'm sorry to say that it's crap. |

| #32 +1, and the fact that people whine about balance in a game that haven't really reached the open beta phase yet is pretty fail. Wow wasn't balanced until FAR after release for example and dota have had imbalances since day 1 and still does. |

| #76 Thanks. That's my opinion exactly. I am so disappointed by the lack of new content for HoN. I acknowledge the few technical advantages it has, but you don't play a game just because it offers you the capability of reconnecting to a host. You play it because you enjoy its actual gameplay, and in the case of HoN, gameplay is all DotA - or, I should say, an inferior copy of it. |
| I sense conspiracy between Fnatic and S2 when they decided to pick up a HoN team. The game's not even finished yet ffs and they pick up a HoN team? wtf I think S2 pays Fnatic to pick up HoN team to boost their popularity and attract more gamers to it. Moreover, some of HoN top players are DotA gamers that didn't make it or survive DotA's professional scene |
| HoN is exactly what DotA needs: comptetition. dota had a monopol until now which wasnt good for the development. the best changes in the dota community and in the game where made recently. so i think HoN is healthy for dota. idc much what happens with HoN itself but its no doubt a good game. |

But he didn't amend the theft. The problem with it is that HoN has 60 heroes, and whenever a new DotA changelog comes out, they copy most of the changes. DotA has 95 heroes. To balance HoN's 60 heroes you need make different changes and not the same as with DotA's 95 heroes. Maybe you shouldn't have a carry with invisivbility, built-in maphack with similar to sentry wards, a passive with stun and critical, an ulti that's similar to Sniper's but also takes off 10/20/30 percentage of your max HP (not current!). The concept is broken. The hero will either be useless or way overpowered. You can't balance a game with such failed concepts. Take a look at Puppet Master. Or Nymphora. And Bloodstone's HoN version. I tried the game, played it for a while, but it doesn't have the real DotA feeling and its depths. A lot of people who have not played DotA until now will like HoN. But 99% of those who know what real DotA is, will not switch over. And don't forget about Valve. |

| #76: Hmm yeah okay think that fits it, although they do off-dota changes. They let own ideas influence the game, and I don't think that HoN tries to "steal" dota players, but more attract new guys (although it still has to much theory -like dota). And I think the dota guys will (mostly) stick to dota, and wait 3 or 4 years until valve publishes the "new dota" anyway |
| Hon gameplay sucks as itself , my almost all friends went to play that crap. Now i can laugh at them beinging idiots for quitting DotA , Dota > HoN. And one day they will remember DotA and those times  Edit : And stealing the game and making money on it is not cool... |
