Former Blight.USA player PAINTITGOLD was interviewed by Forget-Gaming on the recent happenings in the American DotA scene, his new team SWM(formerly named Blight.USA) and the upcoming ESL finals.

Does SWM have any future LANs planned?

-"SWM is currently looking for a sponsor. We'll go to anything in America that has a prize pool which is worth it, and we really wanna attend ESWC. If we pick up a sponsor, we'll try to go to anything we can down the road."

Blight Issues

Paint commented on the reasons for the team leaving the sponsorship of Blight. It seems that there were some problems with the contract issues. The sponsors wanted the players to sign the contracts before actually helping out the players, but Paint had some problems with the contract and hence they decided to move on. Nevertheless he recommends other interested teams to approach Blight for sponsorship given that they don't have any problems with the contracts. He also commented on the good conduct of the blight team, a gesture which had been missing from DotA sponsors in the recent times.

Have you planned anything special for the upcoming final in ESL, or is it just another match?

-"We always have tricks up our sleeves. They're called the "big guns".. we only pull 'em out here and there though. You might see it, you might not. Depends how the picks go :)"

American and Asian DotA Scene

According to Paint, Nirvana.Int qualifies as the strongest American DotA team with a well set and balanced team. He also predicts the success of Nirvana.Int in the Asian scene due to their strong roster and excellent adaptability. With the picking abilities of Puppey and the innovative strategies of the team he is sure that with given time and practice Nirvana.Int can rise to be the top team in the world.
