EMS: Semi finals begin

MYM versus Pandemic. Planet-X versus SWM. These are the semi finals of ESL Major Series season V, a season where we have seen far too many drop-outs and forfeits. And with MYM and Pandemic having unstable rosters at the moment, the troubles may continue into the semi finals.

Quarter final: Planet-X > iG
Both teams had interesting heroes for clashes, Planet-X probably the stronger one with Enigma, Warlock, Earthshaker, Death Prophet and Beastmaster. A silence to shut the opponents up followed by a painful area combo. iG’s Medusa never got as useful as they needed her to for winning the game. Planet-X won the match, even though they had to push through a farmed Pit Lord, something that might be difficult as he kills the creeps very fast and stuns most of the team with his powerful and frequent skills.

Quarter final: LL < Pandemic
Pandemic snatched Prophet and showed us the deadly synergy he has with Shadow Fiend and Witch Doctor. LL never really managed to farm any items and Pandemic never had any troubles winning this one.

Quarter final: MYM > Tribal.int
Here, MYM used an interesting line-up of players, much like the old meT (with the addition of Miracle). It is yet to be revealed if it was just a one time “fun” line-up or not. Also, perhaps ESL aren’t too happy about the use of three stand-ins. Anywho, MYM picked a gank- and clash oriented line-up and won without losing a single tower.

Quarter final: DIPS < SWM
Blight.usa returned just in time to pick up their old quarter final spot in EMS, but this time under a different name and with slightly different players. Korok plays his Morphling as seen many times before, grabbing kills and still managing to stay alive. He is ofcourse backed up by the stable teamplay his players provides. DIPS got overwhelmed.

And thus begins the semi finals, where we have MYM facing Pandemic. This might be an interesting game in an uninteresting way, as both teams seem to have roster problems at the moment. But MYM should be able to gather a stronger line-up, or they will let EnotHOME play under MYM tags as happened in the quarter final.
The other match-up consists of Planet-X and SWM, both teams with low (official) activity lately but should provide for an interesting game as both teams usually go for capturing the early-mid phase.
