GosuCup round one wrap-up

Posted by Terrence "MrBlue" Wong 2 years ago
Round one of GosuCup coming to a close as Europe defeats the best of Asia.

Standings:
Round one fixtures
TeamResultTeam
Singapore XtC < Europe Tribal.int
Germany dmZ < Australia MCiTY
Other Blight.int > Europe TheShit!
Ukraine DTS > Germany LaginHed
Romania TeG > Sweden DIPS
Malaysia Kingsurf < Russia AEON.ru
Slovakia SGC > Singapore PMS|Asterisk*
Denmark MYM > United States Pandemic

All eight games of GosuCup round one has been played with exception of the game between SGC and PMS|Asterisk*. Due to some technical difficulties, one of PMS's player was unable to join the game being hosted. After trying for over an hour, both teams decided to postpone the match to a later time. But due to PMS heading to ShangHai for the IronLady DotA tournament, they were given a default loss.

Top teams such as DTS, TeG and MYM took down their opponent easily and will now proceed to round two.. The Asian teams, KingSurf and XtC were unable to impress, being defeated by AEON.ru and Tribal.Int respectively. While the game between Blight.Int vs TheShit! should be watched as Puppey showed how deadly a well-played Visage can really be.

Round two of GosuCup will be starting very soon. GosuBets will be provided, but in the meantime watch some of the great matches that were played during round one Here.

I think the heading is totally wrong ... "Europe defeats the best of Asia" would be "Europe defeats the best of Asia with lag and delay" ... as a personal opinion, i think asian teams are a bit better than european ones.

ALL players from ALL countries are good... just different play styles, if europeons beat asian teams 100-0 then you can say they are better but its constant win and lose so it doesnt even matter. The level of play is so high there are very fine lines which constantly move and are invisible :), you can never predict dota, always shocking results in every game/competition so shush to all the europe asian crap.

Its possible to have a decent online game with EU/America/Australia players (MCity playing many online tournaments).

Why its not possible to have a decent and fair match with top Asian teams? Organizers of GosuCup should think about it. Its their responsibility to provide fair conditions to all the teams. Otherwise, these victories mean nothing and players from Asia will not attend next time.

If you want international tournament you must have technology and ability to do it.

Besides that, Gosucup is cool and I'm looking forward to other matches.

the problem with euro teams is that they already have good internet and yet theyll force asian teams to play a fucking UShost bot!!!!!

@22. We appreciate the comments. But you have to understand. MCiTY is Australian, they have way better connection than Malaysia. Trust me, I know. I'm a Malaysian, but I've been studying in Australia. The connection in Malaysia is just a joke compared to anywhere else. Singapore isnt that much better either.

No matter how good of a player you are even if you are the best in the world in any game when it comes to lag and delay.... YOU LOSE!!!!!!!!

Can't the organizers of the tournament get a neutral hostbot for matches? Neutral in terms of distance and ping/latency. Otherwise inviting Asian teams would be totally useless.

Such a waste, I thought that this tournament would satisfy my craving for dream matches. Sadly connection issues would always be there.

Funny to see the asian's already with the tears in their eyes and pulling excuses out of every corner before the europeans even said a word, try to act bit more maturely will ya.

*flameproof vest on*
And of course, we know why the Asian teams lost - it's due to the horrible lag, and them playing for fun/fans...
*off*

do you know why the PMS player is unable to join?

[spoiler] 88,888 miles away thats why. even the mere fact of locating the game presents itself a problem
1
#43 lordgiant 2 years ago
why don't you organize Gosucup Euro and Asia separately? there will still be many reps of top teams for the fans, fair ones to be exact. and the best thing is there will be much less EurovsAsia flames from stupid fanboys of both sides, as easily seen in AeonruvsKS replay.
1
#44 leoisl 2 years ago
do developed asian countries as Japan and South Korea also lag on such same conditions? as @26 stated, Malaysian and Singaporean connections have low quality, so you can't blame the GosuCup organization for lags, since the majority of countries offer good connections and lag-free games...
#45 Scilla 2 years ago
Blight.int all the way.

Both of the headlines flamebait needlessly on the Asians vs. Europeans conflict, which has of late calmed down. Why do that?

#49 MrBlue 2 years ago
@43. We already have that in mind.

LOL @ flamebaits from Gosu's crews. Looking for ways to generate more traffic?
