EMS playoffs, round 1

ESL Major Series is back after a minor break and the teams are hopefully eager to show what they’ve got, although facts tell us otherwise. Three out of eight teams have disbanded or forfeited the series. Lets hope the rest of the teams will manage to carry out all of their matches.

MYM, the winners of last EMS season are still here to defend their title, beating the polish team with the crowd pleasing name Fountain Dive, where we saw Maelk playing his old signature hero Axe. The match was over pretty quickly. DIPS took down GaB pretty quickly aswell, going for a ban on Slardar and grabbing the infamous Stealth Assassin as their last pick. And with great results.
However, the other two matches of the first playoff round weren’t played. Both of the two remaining german teams faced roster troubles and forfeited. LAN, or dmZ as they were called just up until now, gave the default win to the danes in Lyngby Luckers. Team-Thermaltake have announced their disbandment, resulting in Infernal.Gamers winning without having to play.

Blight.usa, Planet-X, Tribal.int and Pandemic, being the winners of their groups, get to skip the first round of playoff, thus directly qualifing them for the quarter finals

Since Blight.usa have disbanded, an easy ride into the semi finals is probably what to expect for DIPS.

UPDATE: Seems like Blight.usa will in fact play with whatever team they can assemble.
