GosuCup round one

GosuCup #2 has started and round one is just starting to heat up as we see Asian teams facing off against the titans of Europe.

Firstly, take a look at the fixtures below:

LaginHed, a team consisting of mostly ex-nfinity players will be taking Team-Thermaltake's spot as they have disbanded.

Due to Europe DotA Championship being in the final catchup week, many of the round one games have not been played yet. In fact, only two out of eight games have been played. Those games being dmZ vs MCiTY and TeG vs DIPS. MCiTY took the upper-hand using an OmniKnight and Broodmother combo to quickly push down dmZ's towers. DIPS's carry, Rikimaru was unable to tank TeG's Death Prophet's ulti after he was silenced and fell quickly.

Most of the remaining matches have been scheduled to be played during this weekend. MYM will start it off at 23:00 CET tonight, taking on team Pandemic. Followed by Russian powerhouse AEON.ru vs the Malaysian titans, Kingsurf tomorrow at 16:30 CET. The remaining scheduled games will be played on the 23rd. XtC will be playing against Tribal.int at 13:00 while the only all female team to be invited, PMS|Asterisk will have their first match against SGC at 14:00 CET.

The most anticipated game of round one has got to be AEON.ru vs Kingsurf. Both teams have showed some strong performances during offline play, winning many major tournaments in and around their country. They however have not placed so well in online tournaments. How will these two teams fair when they got on the battlefield? Only time will tell.

The Singaporean team, XtC having gone through some roster changes seems set to take down their opponents, but Tribal.int is just as eager to go to battle. PMS|Asterisk* will be taking their match against SGC as a warm-up before they head to Shang Hai for the Iron Lady DotA tournament. Finally, whether MYM will be playing at their peak is still unknown as they are still going through some roster changes at the moment, giving Pandemic a slight advantage at the game.
