Just wanted to share this with all of you, as you won't ever have to fear failing at anything again :) It is a long but good read. You deserve it :D Yesterday I was at a very postponed "christmas-lunch". A lot of snaps was passed around, so was our beloved whiskeys and other devilish juices. Inevitably we all got piss-drunk. Not your regular piss-drunk, but beyond human recognition... We were mere savages for a few hours! So... We decide to hit ze city at god knows what hour, hailing a cab and it flew us the 3 kilometers in 3 minute. At least that was what it felt like! The warp speed stirred my stomach in none-pleasant way and I was only waiting to get out and breathe free air! We were finally dropped off and as some of my friends were trying to pay off the driver, I tottered down a pedestrianized street parallel to a stream. We have a shallow stream running through our city...It is quite calm and just an aesthetic addition to the view of the city. Anyways... I had forgotten all about my friends in a very few seconds as I was probably almost sleep-walking... near the edge of the stream. There was 2 meter fall from edge to the stream and no rails or fences. At a point along the the edge there was nick about 50 centimeters into it and then it continued on, with nicks every 50 meters or so further down the edge. At this point I am waking up from the sensation of tearing through 2 meters of air. It happened in a split-second and as I hit the water, I gulped a huge one of the filthy water. Luckily my taste buds were saturated and couldn't tell the difference between vodka and water. I was fucking lucky that I could touch the bottom! I was abruptly brought into a semi-sober state as I realized the impossible must have happened. People must have run from the club perpendicular to my drop off point and were now staring down at me. They screamed and tried to reach me with fluttering arms, but I was quite calm, or just piss-drunk again, and wondered what the hell they wanted with me. I finally came around and reached out to pull myself up. Unreal. It was impossible... I had gained at least 20 kilos with all of my clothes now soaked. Then some dude found a tiny set of steps further down along the edge to the stream and I could walk there and then climb up. With solid, and dry, grounds under my feet I now strolled back home. I live 400 meters from the scene of the accident, so no biggie, though it was fucking freezing! I reached my apartment-stairs and climbed the five floors with paddling shoes. Threw all my clothes on a washing line and took a warm bath. Puked all of that disgusting water up, all over my feet yet again paddling... Just great! I must have reached my bed sooner or later as I woke up this afternoon there. I had to check if my clothes were actually on the washing line. All this seems so unreal that it must have been a dream. And it WAS! Naar... Afraid not, I promised you deliverance of all your fails :) It was no fucking dream... I lost my ipod, my ear phones and my cell phone. 450$ down the "drain", all most literally! If not this gargantuan humiliation, then maybe the costs may advise you against getting this drunk. At least in my city :D The rest of the day I have spent with a sick hangover and a lot explaining to do... Now the world knows! Be gentle ;) Ironically enough I have always been criticized for not have any sort of house contents insurance and I have been researching that area lately to acquire one... toofuckinglatemate! I hope this made you smile just a tad, it surely has alleviated my hangovers all day with big laughs :D GG I'm out | ||||||||||||||||
