Night out with Blizzard
Created 2nd June 2010 10:58

Hi guys, this post will be about an outing I had yesterday night with couple of PR guys from Blizzard. I am writing from Singapore so what Blizzard had discussed about is mainly geared towards the SEA region.

It may be already known to some that the SEA SC2 will cost 109SGD and perhaps similar amounts in the SEA region. Though it has been confirmed that there would be region lock for all the server, basically meaning a US server player cannot play on European server and so on.

Though many may complain about the high price point for the game, Blizzard has promised that Sc2 will be the best RTS game to be ever produced.

The blizzard boys had point out couple of key points that make the 109SGD worth every cent:

1) There would be localized servers in SEA region. Many may argue that you are playing from SEA and you have very little or almost no lag playing the US beta but you have yet to consider that this is closed beta and when it launches, there would be way more players on Battle Net 2.0 and priority of the bandwidth goes to players from the region. Blizzard has also confirmed that they will be running the servers and not IAH gaming.

2)Blizzard had promised SC2 to be the best single and multi-player RTS game ever made and hopefully ever will be. There would be patch after patch to constantly improve the game and the patches will not be any slower than its US or European counterparts. It will be also the platform to the biggest spread of custom maps where players can play other games other than just SC2.

3)Blizzard has also stated that there would be better feedback services and customer service as there would be offices set up in SEA to handle enquires from SEA region. It will be much faster to respond to a player who plays in SEA SC2 server than in US SC2 server.

All in all. It will definitely be much more worth for the gaming experience to purchase a SEA SC2 if you are staying in SEA.
