I got a Cataclysm Beta key, and will update you on my thoughts and ideas, wishes and annoying changes now and then. My first entry will sum up some impressions I got from leveling a pre-made Mage to 82. The new Addon feels more fun, than the previous ones. Leveling isn't a "duty" anymore, but pleasure. Leveing from 80 to 81 took me about 2 hours, which once is due to an increased XP-rate, but also due to a neat quest-chain design. Mount Hyjal was really fun to level in. The instances, also something I used quite a lot to level, were very good designed, it is not that you simply AoE tank the mobs and the other people just DPS them dead. You have to use crowd control again, and think about your steps. Due to the fact, that the amount of HP Bosses have, are very low, the trashmobs often are harder to kill, than their Lords. Another annoying part of instances is, that to be able to use the LFG system, you have to discover the instance's entrance first. The feature, that was implemented with the IceCrown instances, the minimum Item-level to join the LFG Tool for certain instances, is also used in Cataclysm. All in all, many things got improved, and WoW feels a bit more like fun again, and not simple grinding. S2 kept their promise so far and still bumps up content in weekly patches. Another one is about to come the next days: Tundra! Today I received an image of the next hero to be added to Heroes of Newerth. Its name is Tundra, and from watching the Artwork you can guess that it will live up to its name. Tundra will take the role of a ganker, in addition to the latest addition Bubbles (DotA port: Puck) they are a nice addition to everyone's gankpool. The Abilities are not published yet, but stay updated. But know what you all came to this blog for: The artwork. ![]() In my opinion he looks more like a strength carry than a ganker, but let's see what his abilities are. I'm also curious about which side it will fight for: Legion or Hellbourne. But I hope it will be an evil one =). Stay tuned for the next patch notes to catch the abilities, and post your opinion here.

As maybe some of you know, I was DotA Headadmin at Dreamhack this year (Summer and Winter 2009). I was asked (and also like) to sum up my thoughts/work/likes/dislikes. So how does it look like? 13 hours traveling. Skipping Uni 3 to 4 days. No alcohol, just nerds! Not that hard :p I had to set up a ruleset and an IRC Channel for Dreamhack.DotA and that was everything to be done preDH. I had booked my flights 2 months before, so it was really cheap. When I came to Dreamhack I am the only person there who cannot understand Swedish xD. (It was Wednesday evening and the Event hasn't startet yet, only the crew guys joke around, have to fix things - this time until 4 a.m.- and DINNER!). Next morning you wake up early and watch the mess, when everyone tries to find his seat as fast as possible (You reserve your seat before you check in, so no need for hurry). It is not just a LAN, it is 3 Halls with ~ 10000 people alltogether. A lot of companies (and I think even the Swedish army) are there, promoting. They have a huge Stage where some bands perform and some other things take place (like that awesome drummer, who drummed the Super Mario and Simpsons theme, as well as some special sounds in Mario (like super star theme). So I sit there, getting to know Chutney who will help me with administrating the DotA tournament. Then for three days it is less sleep more work. But you get to know the players really well, and you joke around. Especially with DIPS and unique it was fun, but also with Tribal, since I met them for the second time, and I already knew them. From time to time you watch what the other GosuGamers guys will do and join them, annoy them and stuff. But all in all it is just a normal LAN, nerds everywhere and the Myth that Swedish girls are hot is - at least in the gaming milieu - SO WRONG! It is quite some stress, and since I am not a Swede I am a little off, but all in all meet the GosuCrew and especially Patrik (Raistlin) is a hell of fun. If you want to know more about it just state your questions in the comments, and I will come back to them =)

DotA will be developed by IceFrog and Valve. They teamed up to envolve DotA!You guys liked HalfLife? I think everyone enjoyed HalfLife or Counterstrike back in the days. And even HalfLife 2 was amazing. In my opinion Valve is like Blizzard: Everything they touch becomes gold! Now the most amazing thing that could EVER happen happened. As IceFrog stated in his Forum, he will work together with Valve (say: He leads a developers team) to push DotA to higher grounds. This can stop all the arguing about HoN or LoL becoming successors of DotA, because with this, even the graphics may become superior. For me this is the right step. Now let's hope for the DotA Scene to become more professional and I see a great future for DotA in general! Read his Satement here or just below: IceFrog
I have some really awesome news I'd like to share with you guys. I am now leading a team at Valve! I finally have all the resources needed to do some very exciting stuff that you guys will love. I look forward to revealing more specific details when the time is right. My goal and top priority in the future is to solve the surrounding issues that affect the DotA experience in order to allow it to reach new heights. Addressing these issues will enable us to further enjoy aspects of DotA such as the gameplay, mechanics, and in-game feel that currently work well and ought to be maintained. As I've said many times in the past and especially after today's developments, I am very excited about DotA's future! With regards to the 6.64 patch, the focus will be primarily on more balance improvements. It is moving along very smoothly and I expect to have it ready soon. Once those refinements are done, I'll be working on some fun new content such as heroes or remakes for the 6.65 version. If there are specific things, big or small, you want me to consider for patches that follow, let me know.

Anonymität >> ALL.
