Quick Rant about ESTC '11
Created 7th October 2011 13:13 (Updated: 7th October 2011 13:15)

The planning of the ESTC event is terrible. This event really disappoints me after being rather quiet towards the DotA scene for the past few months due to my personal life.

During today's matches, the organizers fill the whole place with singing and small talk, nothing to do with the events that are occurring right at that moment. What the hell are the organizers thinking? Is ESTC an event for karaoke, instead of DotA or Starcraft II? If the Thai organizers feel karaoke is more important, then perhaps they shouldn't host a DotA event, because it is disrespectful to the players, the commentators, and the DotA scene itself.

I even think the singing is subpar, but that might be just me. To think that this is what we can expect from the few big name DotA events left, it definitely leaves all the actual work for WDC and SMM... Whatever, this event's planning really draws a gravely negative opinion from me.

/sigh

REQUIRES WC3 Version 1.24b to VIEW

Yes, that's right. I've returned from a massive hiatus from shoutcasting to provide a better quality shoutcast, in terms of video and audio, as well as streaming service at own3d.tv.
Check out my channel at:

Here's the link to the actual stream.

Focused more on the strategic aspect of the game, such as picks, laning set-up, laning strategies, ward positioning and effectiveness, item decisions, etc.

No doubt, my play-by-play does need work however. Hoping to improve on this throughout time through shoutcasting experience. I also have a nasty habit of flubbing my words or might end up saying something wrong once in a while. I wouldn't mind if you let me know, as I'm always seeking improvement.

Further Notes:
As of v6.71b, it is confirmed: Gyrocopter is unbanned and is an available pick in Captain's Mode.
Gyrocopter's spammable rocket skill is called "Rocket Barrage".

At 12:49, 820 said, 凶死了 ("xiong si le"). He's saying that DK (specifically, Burning and KingJ) is being so mean/cruel for tower diving just for him. :D

Constructive criticism, as well as corrections, questions, or comments in general are welcome! Enjoy!

ADC: LGD vs Scythe - Talk
Created 27th February 2011 11:01 (Updated: 28th February 2011 05:47)

The LGD.sGty of 2011?

Everyone has been wondering about the Chinese DotA Scene. It was the strongest nation in the world in respect to DotA, with impressive performances from the world-dominating team EHOME, with equally impressive performances coming from Nirvana.cn and LGD.sGty, followed by the newer, but very talented Deity, DK, and newest team CCM, among others. On top of that, the top Chinese team show the capability of defeating one another on any given day. Their tournament performances, as well as training sessions, often occured on LAN or regional internet, keeping a vast majority of Chinese talent within the well-established DotA powerhouse nation.

Throughout 2010, we see impressive matches and a streak of dominance nationally and internationally. No news was overlooked, no creep score was unannounced - everyone at least slightly involved with the professional DotA scene knew of ZSMJ's Medusa and his ridiculously accurate farm, Burning's consistent farm and carry knowledge on Morphling and Sniper, 820's near-flawless support play on CM and VS, Dai's ridiculous action hero moves with Lion, YaphetS' legendary Shadow Fiend linked to his name, Banana's Puck flaunting excellent mobility and support, ... the list goes on - much, much longer than just this measly paragraph.

But one team had started slumping. LGD's dominance in 2009 had been stunning, conquering SMM 2009 on top of other achievements, to secure their path at least in the beginning of 2010. They did perform, but near the last half of the year, LGD's records were slacking. Despite having won a small number of big name tournaments, LGD suffered from internal clashes, the departure of their captain, 2009, and had to find another replacement. LGD had major work to do in order to regain their standing.

Then, came the infamous roster reshuffle, an earthquake that would rival the chaos that ensued the great Sichuan Earthquake, where confidence had shattered like ice against a brick wall. This brick wall was the DotA scene - had the roster changes shaken up a number of dominating Chinese teams enough for local and international competition to seize a spotlight?

LGD answered with a resounding "NO" in an epic clash against Nirvana.Cherry.cn. ChuaN, a popular Malaysian contender back in his home country, had signed up with LGD. On top of this, LGD's legendary ZSMJ returns with a big fat farm in the face of Nirvana.Cherry.cn, who were fresh after their recent 2010 victories in WDC and RGC. On top of that, LGD's complete line-up with CH, YYF, and 830 were playing Nirvana.Cherry.cn into their hands. LGD opens the 2011 year with a strong Rank 1 finish in the Lunar New Year Cup.

Of LGD presence in 2011, their roster includes:
- ch (China)
- ZSMJ (China)
- YYF (China)
- 830 (China)
- ChuaN (Malaysia)

Scythe.SG - Sharp as Ever!

Aeon.SG. Top celebrity players like hyhy, ToFu, Roy, iceiceice... Yet they were unable to make a dramatic shiny performance in Southeast Asia to establish a dominant power. Again, they clashed with other nations - Singapore had natural talent, and seized a number of victories, but in the end, they couldn't compete against the Chinese powerhouses. The same could be said about Malaysia's long-time brilliance, Nirvana.my.

In the end, Nirvana.my crumbled into a weak age, as well as Aeon.SG. Aeon's activity slumped further, and without a word, they seemed to have disappeared under the camera angles pointed toward their Northern DotA beasts. Suddenly, an unlikely shift of the wind came from the East. A Japanese CEO reached out and brought up what is now-called Scythe Gaming, or Scythe.SG. The removal of star player iceiceice was a little surprising, but the power shift had happened. ToFu also disappeared. In place, however, Singaporean Scythe.SG reached out and seized 2 super-talents of Malaysia: Yamateh and Sharky. Yamateh rocked hard with his traditional carry role, while a new member, a veteran Malaysian player named Koy, turned up the brilliance of Scythe.SG's potential with extremely top-quality support play. They dominated multiple games recently in 2011, with hyhy and Yamateh's carry heroes and Koy's world's best Earthshaker being the massive talk of the year already.

Of Scythe.SG's favorable outlook in 2011, their roster includes:
- hyhy (Singapore)
- Roy (Singapore)
- Koy (Malaysia)
- YamateH (Malaysia)
- Sharky (Malaysia)

Casting Hiatus
Created 2nd September 2010 12:46 (Updated: 2nd September 2010 12:50)

My Livestream Account: http://www.livestream.com/knightsynergydota

I'm considering taking a break from my early shoutcasting efforts, partially because of my current shoutcasting equipment isn't good and my current set-up is somehow messed up (unabled to see the game window when I use Procaster's "Capture Game").

With that said, my 3rd shoutcast is here!
Malaysia Nirvana.my vs Philippines Mski.Infinity
http://www.livestream.com/knightsynergydota/video?clipId=pla_2b53bae7-7e45-4e2b-bb8a-49a68859c7ef&utm_source=lslibrary&utm_medium=ui-thumb

Unfortunately, I know my scrolling capability in the game was severely hindered because I was forced to use "Capture desktop" to capture the game window.

Until my equipment improves or technical difficulties resolve, I might have to halt my shoutcasting for a while, and if I continue, it might be very limited.
