My Picks
Created 16th February 2010 20:33 (Updated: 17th October 2010 03:19)

Earthshaker Juggernaut Windrunner Lightning Revenant Witch Doctor

ES/Jugg/WD bot, Razor solo mid, WR solo long

ES and WD are some of the best heroes to trilane with in DotA, and so is Jugg since he becomes magic-immune during whirlwind, which makes this trilane so tough to beat, allowing Jugg to get his farm.

WR is a great all around hero that can be played differently depending on what's needed, however, Shackleshot and Powershot, and combined with ES and WD, can provide a nightmare for opposing teams in team-fights.

Even with farm, Jugg is not a good carry, he is best during the middle game, and that is why Razor is there, to provide another late game insurance option. Combined with Aghanim's Scepter, Razor can also become an effective pusher.

Recommended picking order: WD, WR, ES, Razor, Jugg
---------------------------------------------------------------

Rogue Knight Oblivion Venomancer Storm Spirit Shadow Fiend

Sven/Pugna/Veno Long, SF solo short, Storm solo mid

This is a hard lineup to get, just because all the picks can be tough to get at once. However, if you do, realize the power of this lineup in the middle game. You should be dominating it. Abuse Storm's mobility (watch X!! of EHOME for tips). Don't forget to move SF around on the short lane, and force mid game team fights by pushing, you should win them.

Also, play aggressively in the trilane, especially when you hit level 3. You might be able to snipe a hero with Cripple/Nether Blast/Stormbolt. Use Veno's slow to make sure you get kills.

Recommended picking order: Pugna, Storm, Veno, SF, Sven
---------------------------------------------------------------

Tidehunter Slayer Netherdrake Dwarven Sniper Demon Witch

Viper solo long, Lion solo mid, Sniper/Lina/Tide short

The core of this strategy lies with Sniper, Lina, and Lion. Using their ultimate spells in quick succession can easily reduce the opposing heroes by 1. With the added stuns and disables of Lina and Lion, Viper can clean up of anything that's left, especially combined with Aghanim's Scepter.

Tide can be used in many ways, to roam the map, initiate or counter-initiate, whatever. It should also be noted that Tide's Gush reduces armor which makes Sniper and Viper all that much more powerful.

If you don't manage to end the game early by getting many kills with a ganking Lion or Viper, Sniper is your insurance option. While fragile until the latter stages of the mid game, you have 2 other heroes who are dominant when Sniper is weakest, namely Viper and Lion.

Recommended picking order: Lion, Lina, Tide, Sniper, Viper
---------------------------------------------------------------

Prophet Guardian Wisp Invoker Gyrocopter Soul Keeper

TB solo long, Invoker solo mid, Gyro/Wisp short, Furion jungle.
OR
Furion solo long, Invoker solo mid, Gyro/Wisp/TB short

This is a global strat obviously. The 2 different laning strategies depend on your opponent's picks. The major problem with global strategies is this: It lacks the power to close out games. You get a great many kills by ganking all over the place, but while you're out ganking, a carry on the other team is farming.

This is where TB comes in, arguably the best late gamer in the game, he needs to be protected, and this is done with philosophy, "The best defense is a good offense". You have an excellent mid-gamer in Gyro, combined with good supporters in Furion and Io. Invoker is great for setting up ganks as well, and only does better with farm (Scepter).

If things don't pan out as planned, whether it be TB getting killed, or getting counter-ganked, or just by playing bad, you still have a chance as the game progresses. Furion and Invoker can farm fast quite easily if they need to be, and in team fights, Invoker is devastating if left alive, Io and Gyro can team effectively with Tether and Rocket Barrage/Flak Cannon, all while TB just gets more powerful as time goes on.

Recommended picking order: Wisp, Gyrocopter, Invoker, Furion, TB
---------------------------------------------------------------
My Notes:
Netherdrake Lightning Revenant Items:
Treads/Phase -> Scepter

Aghanim's Scepter gives more HP/survivability than Vanguard. Gives mana to spam Viper Strike and Plasma Field/Eye of the Storm.

Gyrocopter Invoker
Rocket Barrage + Cold Snap
Call Down + Tornado/Ice Wall
Homing Missle + Tornado/Ice Wall/Deafening Blast
Flak Cannon + Alacrity

1.DTS should not be blamed

2. i dont think organizor deliberately eliminated EH, DK, but im sure if Roccat beat TR, which meant Nv.cn in the situation of tiebreaker, that wuold be highly possible for extra games

3. there is few professional dotaers in WDC committee, too many flaws happened so far.

4. i chillled out already, 820's microblog said they gonna tqke a break for several days then train hard for SMM, take back the champion which belongs to them....hhaa.... im so curious about EHOME's weird picks and tactics, long time no see after Longdd' Dragon in ADC 08

i gonna watch DTS vs LGD right away, i wanna see DTS's another weird picks ,hehe

Nv.cn played good last night towards Dream...Dream had little experience of late, full build items situation.....if replace Dream as EH, i dont think Nv.cn would win that easily

hmmm......i dont know, Nv.cn got raped so hard, no one expected that would happen.... i think CN's dominating era has gone......but hard to say, there are quite a lot of pro teams out there.....u can beat one , but no way to beat all.....so let's see what will happen in next following days

i think there gonna be extra game......which will be EHOME vs DTS, DTS VS AEON. EHOME VS AEON again....up until one of them lose two games in a row....

about EHOME.....hmmmm, i dont have high expectation.....they lost to DTS and Nv.my did not hurt me so much....hope they can come back....but if so, they will meet LGD in quarterfinal.....tough as well..

ur Nv.cn is in nice group, and nice bracket as well..... host advantage ? maybe, i dont know....but wish all good luck....hope they rock, no matter which CN team get champion, i would feel proud..........

yeah, i agree, these two or three evenings, Nv kept playing 6.68c .....this might influence them a litte bit, cuz WDC will use 6.69c....so at this point, not in favor of Nv.....good luck though
