The World Cyber Games will have a beta testing period for their online qualifications for Starcraft: Brood War and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. You now have the opportunity to sign up and participate - but only if you are an U.S. citizen.
In a news post on the World Cyber Games USA website one can read about a period of beta testing for the online qualification for Starcraft: Brood War and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne for the U.S. National Championship. A championship which is set to begin at the end of May. The WCG crew will check the status of the online preliminaries and the online match system. The ones playing in it will have a chance to try the system out and perhaps get a little advantage because of knowing it when it is time for the real tournament.
Have to be a U.S. citizen
In order to play in the tournament you have to be a citizen of the United States, and currently live in the U.S. area. During the five days between May 10th and May 15th you can be one of the guys who play in the online qualification beta tournament.
In order to do so, you will have to register on the site. You can do so by following the link below. The registration is open and has been so since April 15th. You will be able to sign up until the 5th of May.
Prizes
When the testing period is over the World Cyber Games people will hand out a prize to the top ranked player, and a prize to a randomly chosen person who have been kind and reported bugs or written suggestions and things like that about the system.
Well, the news post on the WCG site isn't that packed with information, and they said that they will announce rules and details about how it will work later on. Hurry up to register, but make sure to have a valid U.S. West account, since that is needed during the signup process.
