Optihack is a LAN party in Gothenburg, Sweden, during the Christmas break where GosuGamers recently were invited to host the Starcraft tournament. The whole Swedish national team has been invited as VIPs and will be participating!
Optihack has so far over 2000 participants registered but it is not only a LAN, it also includes something called "E-life festival" which will have some resemblance to E3 in Los Angeles. Optihack are very keen to make E-Sport itself grow and therefore invited several gaming-related companies to participate in the event; Intel, Qpad, Cooler Master and Logitech will be there, just to mention a few. Entrance to the E-Life festival will cost you 60 SEK unless you are a LAN-participant which grants you free access.
E-Sport event - top players in lots of games
Very much like the Swedish national team are invited as VIPs, several Counter-Strike clans, WarCraft 3 players and Call of Duty clans are invited to participate in the event.
Prizes worth 21,000 SEK in the SC-tournament
(~€2,342 Euro)The prizes for the tournament hav a total value of 21,000 SEK, where 6,000 is in cash prizes (1st: 3k, 2nd: 2k, 3rd: 1k). The product prizes will be worth a total of 15,000 SEK divided amongst the top finalists.
