Well, the day is finally here. The beta is launched, and I have my key. Raistlin nudged me on MSN and said "Check your battle.net page you might have a download waiting for you!" Sure enough, I did.

After getting it downloaded and installed I got struck by that feeling you are all expecting. Yes, it's really really here. And yes, I'm really really playing it. Until I got to the login screen it didn't really hit me full blast.

I decided to just start out easy (and I do mean easy) by fighting an AI with Very Easy difficulty. I noticed how incredibly rusty I was, it's been ages since I played StarCraft, and it took a while to optimize the graphics settings and so on.

There's two Vespene Depot right at the start of the base (I chose good old Lost Temple) so I took it easy, knowing a "Very Easy" computer would hardly rush me or anything. I didn't really take anything seriously and just marveled at the buildings, the units, the graphics, the sounds and the AWESOME music.

All the new small mechanics changes really impress me. Workers automatically splitting up to different mineral patches, endless control groups, smarter hotkeys (no more reaching across the keyboard to press P for pylon or probe, they're E now).

The game itself was over quickly once I got things started, zerglings and hydras (my old favourites) mixed with Roaches steamrolled the Very Easy AI.

I promised my brother to blog about it as soon as I could, so here I am.

I'm too lazy to properly upload all my screenshots in order and on this website, so until someone tells me not to, I'll just upload them all in a chunk for now. I want to go back and play, not blog. :)

Cool, I think it's a good idea to play the first game against AI, get used to new things etc. I will take your blog as an advice. :)

noob friendly games = no tnx, and sc2 sure is... big thumbs down, and big thumbs down for w3 engine, dont like it at all..

as long as the hotkey is one letter from the word,it`s kinda ok...modifications like this had to be made,it was kinda wierd at one point but as #3 stated...not using your entire keyboard kills the spirit of the game a bit..i mean,why were koreeans so special?yea....first of all it`s their stupidly insane,non-spam apm....cheers

sc2 gives every noob a feeling how it is to be a great player, looks so damn simple from what ive seen everyone write and play. hoping that the game is more difficult than from the perspective im watching from

by having so simple keyboard action will kill the spirit alot to watch another gamer play, sc2 keyboard are all like any fucking rts game now t,t

its only a one letter - p - u still need to hit 1a2a3a4a5a6a7a8a9a or use scan with 0 and other stuff .. u will be running all over the keyboard

#15 u just 1a or maybe 1a2a if u wanna split up ur zealot with ur stalkers or w/e. and when u wanna make 8 new rines u just 3mmmmmmmm and add a tank maybe 4t

it will be really slow on the keyboard, slower than a toss user in sc1. alot slower

All Blizzard title have been designed to be noob friendly and we got progamers, sure it's easier to control units and buildings, your opponent will make it harder and harder. Remember what Blizzard said about their games, easy to play, hard to master.
