S2 Games' Pu "DivA" Liu mentioned several exciting new changes coming to Heroes of Newerth.

DivA was careful not to divulge too much information in an interview with OnRPG.com, but he did discuss plans for adding more server regions, hiring a balance designer, and introducing a brand new game mode.

OnRPG: A large portion of the community, most likely legacy players, seem to be disappointed by the slow response to balance issues and increasing costs in the goblin shop. How does S2 feel about this and what will be your response?

We are aware of the community's concerns, and as always, we take them very seriously. We're currently in the process of hiring another balance designer to help with the pace of balance content. As far as the Goblin prices go, a...

One of the most essential pillars and backbone in the competitive DotA landscape, ASUS, is going through rough times. In a personal blog on cyberfight.ru, ASUS head administrator Dmitry "d1monn" Kuznetsov announced, that due to a tight budget, the first three tournaments of the season will not take place via LAN.

One could mostly read disappointment between the blog's lines, as ASUS finds itself forced to break with the long lasting tradition of throwing one LAN party per quarter. In 2012, the tournament series will not be a regular meeting point for the Eastern European professional scene, as only the "final battle of the year", ASUS Winter Cup, will take place in a cybercafe during December.

More specific reasons, other than a difficult financial situation are not mentioned. Until now it seems further unclear, wether DotA or Dota 2 will become our...

joinDota.com Administrator and "The International" Organizer Moritz "Moose" Zimmermann announced on jD's forums that "The International 2" is to be held in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Valve let on soon after The International that the second incarnation of the tournament would occur in 2012, however we now have confirmation from an event organizer that The International 2 will take place this year in the United States.

This forum post was made by Moose under a thread titled "The International 2 Speculation." As Moose is one of the primary organizers for the event it is safe to assume that Seattle will be the home of The International 2.

The International remains the worlds largest LAN prize, rumor has it that the second iteration will have at least as much capital at stake. Could this years event possibly surpass the 1.6 million USD total purse of the last...

Korean terran invite Supernova took a commanding lead in Group A, after playing exemplary TvZ series against his foreign opponents. Supernova is only to play Illusion next and is almost certain to advance to the playoffs.

Although the Korean invite did come as the absolute and unquestionable favorite for the tournament, the Chilean zerg KiLLer did make him break a sweat. KiLLer was relentless in the first set, bravely breaking through Supernova's center position despite the perfect tank and marine spread and continued to rally forces up terran territory but Supernova was unbreakable from that point on. With a steady economy behind his back and with ultras instead of brood lords on the field for Killer, Supernova continued to produce silly amounts of marines and medivacs and force a GG.

During set two,...

http://www.gosugamers.net/poker/images/poker/ftp3.jpgThe cause of Evdakov's death is, as of yet, unknown. His wife, Nataliya, reported the sobering news shortly after his passing on Monday via the Russian poker forum cgm.ru. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Troekurov Cemetery in Moscow, near Evdakov’s home.

Full Tilt Poker sponsored Evdakov after he made a name for himself in the poker world with a record setting 10 cashes in the 2008 World Series of Poker. The previous record was eight, and was co-held by Michael Binger, Chad Brown, Phil Hellmuth and Humberto Brenes. Following his sponsorship, he became a regular at mid- and high-stakes tournaments on the site.

The biggest cash of his career came during the 2011 WSOP $25,000 Heads Up Championship, where he placed seventh for $138,853. He followed that up with another six-figure score in the $10,000 Seven Card...

Following the hottest sponsorship deal of the last days, we asked the string-puller of CLG's new Dota 2 team, Jonathan 'Loda' Berg, six questions covering how the team evolved, what is currently there and what needs to improve in the future.

1Eventually It was only a matter of time, but when it comes to finding an organization, one could call you late bloomers. Be it Reason, dignitas, WW, or itsGoSu, many found their new home faster than you, despite not neccessarily playing better. What factors caused this arguable delay?

- Well the reason for the delay of picking up, or rather getting picked up by a sponsor is just that we wanted to wait for a deal that was good enough. Salary plus full support from the...

The third instance of the International StarLeague will start on February, 18th, with Altitude being the main sponsor of this $2500 season.

Barely more than a week until the first of seven 64-man qualifiers start, each of the qualifiers promoting eight players to the next stage.
After the qualifiers the groupstage will take place, with a total of 56 players, letting only 28 players out of its wings.
Following this is the round of thirty-two, where four invites come in to full up the remaining four spots. While the round of 32 is split over two weeks, the rest of the rounds get played week by week, until there are only eight players left.
After the round of eight come the semifinals, together with a 5th-8th place decider via a round robin.
This step is required as the massive $2500 prizepool is split between the top eight players, with the first placed taking a total of $1000 home while the eigth still gets $75.

The young, up-and-coming terran Illusion could not withstand the power of DarkForce as the German walked out triumphant after three sets of ZvT to open IEM Sao Paulo.

DarkForce took the early lead, after taking advantage of some of Illusion's mistakes, starting with crushing the initial terran force but then immediately entering a heavy economy mode, giving Illusion some time to catch up. However, the American terran was once again ready to throw the equilibrium away as he moved almost tankless toward the center of the map in order to establish a fourth base. By that time, however, DarkForce had successfully reached greater spire tech and with just a few Brood Lords and abundance of infestors and banelings, he was able to secure the lead.

Spawning on Tal'Darim Altar for the second set, Illusion was much...

The first all-German Dota 2 squad gets to enjoy the rising value of Dota 2 within eSports, as ARIANA Gaming today announced the successful conclusion of sponsorship negotiations with PANZER.

PANZER have maintained activity and name for several months and achieved a top four placing in the ROCCAT GosuCup #4, before making the switch to Dota 2 for the beginning of joinDOTA's The Defense. Three months later, the Germans passed two group stages and are currently awaiting in their first playoff match this sunday, a team who they lost to not long ago in the prestigious Skynet tournament final.
