Strong performance from Cloud 9, IG ties LGD

Day two opened with a much needed victory for C9 against Fnatic while IG managed to put an end to LGD's undefeated streak.

Cloud 9 vs Fnatic

In the first game of the series it was Cloud 9 who had a stronger draft and a stronger overall performance. They managed to put together a very synergetic lineup with Wisp, Storm Spirit and a Beastmaster for Fata and that payed off quite well for them.

Despite having Mushi on his signature Shadow fiend, Fnatic chose to go with a risky Shadow Shaman pick that ended up to be the sacrificial lamb throughout the entire game. He was meant to help Fnatic to take early towers and split push after but that was just an impossible task as C9 had the relocate available to stop him all the time.  Cloud 9 played a very solid game and took the first game in 39 minutes.

The second game went well for both teams during the early stage with a perfectly equal exchange of towers while the score board was showing a 10-10 kill score 17 minutes into the game. But it Cloud9’s support cast that made the difference, especially MiseRy on Crystal Maiden who even managed to geta  few solo kills which lead to a very fast Midas first item for him. Actually, he became such a disturbing factor that Fnatic decided to smoke 3 of their heroes to gank and take him down.

Good usage of Naga Siren’s Song from Notail combinde with impressive plays from Fata on his Dragon Knight caught Fnatic off guard most of the time, allowing Cloud 9 to take the map control and a couple of uncontested Roshan kills which translated in a clear 2-0 victory and  three valuable points for them.

Invictus Gaming vs LGD Gaming

The first series of the day for Invictus Gaming started in a disastrous way, showing an incredible weak team who struggled from the beginning to the end of the first game. Although it was a very calm game in which only 13 kills were spread across the teams at the 30 minute mark, LGD looked focused and determined to play an objective based DotA which they successfully did, taking the first game from IG in a very convincing manner

In the second game it was up to Ferrari on his Shadow Fiend to keep IG’s hope alive.  Continuing to ignore the new meta, IG went with one of Burning’s strongest heroes, Anti Mage, a drafting decision that paid off entirely.

Although Maybe on Templar Assassin did everything possible to stop the annoying split push pressure, LGD didn’t have  a strong enough response to deal with a fat farmed Anti-Mage and they ended up losing the second game of the series.
