Another cup of the HitBoxTV Bounty Hunter series has just concluded, with Virtus.pro taking down Team Tinker in four games to win the $1,500. The next battle of the series will take place between two American squads, Fire and compLexity, on January 30th.
HitBoxTV's Bounty Hunter series are back with two more cups for Europe and America. The first two rivals from Europe have already completed their duel, with Virtus.pro showing their strength against Team Tinker, ending the $1,500 best-of-five series with a solid 3-1 score. This was Virtus.pro's first victory in a cup organized by HitBoxTV, as they were defeated by Team DOG in their previous attempt back in April 2014.
Despite Team Tinker's victory in the second game, the series was rather one-sided with Virtus.pro having the upper hand both in terms of drafting and execution. While the addition of Henrik 'AdmiralBulldog' Ahnberg seemed to have a rather positive effect on the team's versatility, the synergy and mentality of the squad have yet to show any real improvement. As for the Russians, it was evident from their drafts that they want to deploy new strategies suitable to the meta game, with a notable Outworld Devourer selection in the first match against Tinker's squishy lineup.
The $1,000 American showdown between Fire and compLexity was postponed until January 30th, and it is scheduled to start at 20:00 CET. While Fire will most likely deploy their full roster, compLexity will certainly have to use stand-in players for the match as they have yet to sign the two players missing to complete the squad. Live broadcasting of the games will be provided by HitboxTV.
