G-League 2013 discloses more details on qualifiers

?

After successful negotiations between GameFy and ACE, GameFy is proud to announce further details of their upcoming G-League 2013 tournament. It will feature the top Asian teams, as well as two Western teams.

In our meeting with GameFy today, we were told that the two Chinese teams, namely Invictus Gaming and LGD.Int (the finalists of last season), will receive direct invitations to G-League's main event. The other Chinese teams wishing to participate will have to go through a separate Asian qualifier alongside the top South East Asian teams. Six slots will be up for grabs on that qualifier.

As the fifth season of the G-1 Champions League, this new season of G-League will also open its doors to Western teams. There will be a western qualifier, on which two slots will be contested among the best teams of Europe and North America.

Teams interested in joining the qualifiers  may sign-up by sending an e-mail to [email protected] by filling up the application form. Alternatively, teams can register straight from GameFy's website. The registration will be open until the 23rd of October 0600 CEST. Teams that have previously registered will have to fill in the application form and resend it to the address.

The western qualifier will begin on the 30th of October, while the Eastern qualifier is estimated to start around the 13th of November. The exact date of the qualifiers are yet to be confirmed as there will be changes based on the number of teams registering. Qualifiers will be played in a best-of-one format, with the exception of the finals which will be on a best-of-three.

The prize pool is yet to be confirmed, but it would definitely be higher than last season, where the winner took home 180,000RMB (~$28,700).

The two teams who have received direct invites to the main event of G-League are Invictus Gaming and LGD.International, the two finalists of last season. Both teams are sporting only three out of the five players they had when they battled on the finals last year when IG ended up winning that series on a 3-1 record.

According to GameFy, qualified teams this season will have to stay in China for approximately two weeks for the group stage and the playoffs. Dates are not confirmed yet but we were informed that they are attempting to schedule it from the 9th to the 19th of December 2013, a total of 11 days.

BeyondTheSummit will be the official English stream for G-League. Stay tuned to GosuGamers, the official coverage partner of G-League 2013, for the latest news and updates about the tournament.
