The first groupstage of WePlay DotA 2 Season 2 continues today with matches from Group B, including an appearance from the new Dignitas lineup.
As the North American roster reshuffle came to a close, Team Dignitas came out with a completely revamped roster during the recent MLG Fall Invitational (fogged, bdiz, inphinity, Korok, 1437). They will take on 4FC in one of the two matches played today.
Group B also features another NA powerhouse, Evil Geniuses. The team has been inactive for the past few months and yet to reveal their new roster, which is speculated to include the incumbents Fear, Demon, Jeyo, and new additions Universe and MSS. If this lineup is indeed what EG has in store, their clash with Team Dignitas on September 21 promises to be an interesting matchup among former teammates.
The new lineup of Team Empire also figures to make some noise in this group. They have been on a hot streak recently, winning Cup #2 of EMS One Fall 2013 and finishing 2nd in Cup #1, along with a few victories in StarLadder. Meanwhile, 4FC has struggled against high-profile teams of late, including two losses at the hand of Team Empire last week in StarLadder and EMS One. The last member of the group is DTS2010, chosen as a last-minute replacement for Flipside.Tactics.
As mentioned above, the matchup to watch out for in this group is clearly Team Dignitas against Evil Geniuses, not just because these two teams have a long history with one another, but also the familiarity among players on both sides.
