Astralis have received a direct invite to this year's iteration of ESL One New York.
ESL One New York returns to the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, United States for the second year in a row, offering $250,000 in prize money to eight participants. A total of six teams will receive direct invites, whilst two teams will be admitted via European and North American qualifiers, taking place on August 19th-20th. Thus far five teams have been revealed, most recently announcing the invitation of Danish CS:GO powerhouse, Astralis. The Danes look to improve their stint in comparison to last year, whereby the team sustained a 1-3 win/loss ratio, bombing out in the group stage.

Last year's iteration saw Natus Vincere secure first place following a grand final victory against Virtus.pro. All three maps saw play, with the first two of the series incredibly lop-sided, as Virtus.pro opened with a 16:3 win on de_cobblestone, followed by a 16:8 victory for Na'Vi on de_train. The final map de_mirage saw overtime where Natus Vincere managed to narrowly secure the championship title at 19:17.
