DreamHack Atlanta 2017 - Pyth to stand in for GODSENT

The former Ninjas in Pyjamas rifler will replace Andreas "znajder" Linberg at the $100,000 tournament in Atlanta.

Sweden Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi will be stepping in for Sweden Andreas "znajder" Lindberg during GODSENT’s run at DreamHack Atlanta this coming weekend, the team announced yesterday. According to the statement made on Twitter via TwitLonger, znajder is going on a vacation that has been planned for months. He’ll be back after the tournament is done, but until then, pyth will be taking up his role on the team.

Pyth is currently with GODSENT in their Uppsala offices, bootcamping with the team in preparation for DreamHack Atlanta. The rifler was last seen by the masses with Ninjas in Pyjamas before he left the team in May. With him on board, NiP took first place at Intel Extreme Masters XI - Oakland, winning 2:1 in the Grand Final against SK Gaming. The most recent large tournament he played at was with the Swedish team Dreamchasers, where the roster lost 0:2 to Team Singularity at Copenhagen Games 2017.

"I'm happy to get the chance to play with a team like GODSENT here in Atlanta,” pyth said in a TwitLonger statement. “I've missed competing and I've been pretty inactive lately focusing on other stuff in life so I'm super hungry to come here with the boys and try to claim the title."

GODSENT have had some struggles lately with an eighth place finish at the Esports Championship Series Season 3 European League. They placed in the 9th-11th range after a nail-biter of an overtime against North, ending with the latter winning the 17:19 match.
