With a week left till commencement, DreamHack have released details regarding invited teams and scheduling for the event taking place late July.
Seven days are left till the start of DreamHack Open Atlanta 2017, in light of the fact DreamHack have announced six invited teams to participate at the event. Curiously the qualified teams were known prior to those invited, with Misfits and Binary Dragons admitted via the North American and European qualifiers respectively. The two will be joined by six invited teams this July 21st-23rd in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, duking it out for the $100,000 prize pool.
Formatting for the event will see a traditional DreamHack Open variant, whereby the initial part of the group stage will see best-of-one, double elimination matches, followed by best-of-three, single-elimination deciders. The group stage will be succeeded by best-of-three, single-elimination play-offs. Teams that manage to secure a flawless group stage performance automatically secure a spot in the semi-finals.
