SK Gaming secure Champions' title at ESL One: Cologne 2017
Yesterday evening SK Gaming were crowned Champions of ESL One Cologne 2017 after defeating Cloud9 in a best-of-five series. The Brazilians kept it brief at a triple map sweep, kicking off to a swimming 16:9 start on de_Cobblestone. Following this polarised performance, the teams were in a bit closer of a competition, as Cloud9 managed to secure double digits on the second map, despite conceding it at 12:16. The third, and final map of the series saw an even closer performance, where the two teams met on de_Inferno, playing out all thirty rounds. It all came down to the final two rounds, both of which were accrued by SK Gaming and as a consequence of their outstanding performance the team was crowned Champions.
OpTic Gaming sign Chet "ImAPet" Singh as coach
Following his departure from Counter Logic Gaming Coach and Analyst, Chet "ImAPet" Singh has found a new home in OpTic Gaming. The 20-year-old will be fulfilling the coaching role within the Green Wall in place of James "Hazed" Cobb, who has now seemingly transitioned into the in-game leader role. The organisation now houses a comprehensive roster, contrary to the persistent instability involved with Hazed fulfilling various roles.
Valve release PGL Major stickers and graffiti
In light of the upcoming Major Valve have released all stickers and graffitis that will be available for purchase during the duration of the event. A total of eighty player stickers are available in both vanilla and gold variants, as well as team stickers and graffiti. In addition to this, Valve have introduced a sticker mega bundle, available for purchase on Steam that contains one sticker and graffiti for each of the participating teams, eight legend and challenger player autograph capsules and one each of a PGL sticker and graffiti.
Invitees announced for DreamHack Masters: Malmö 2017
DreamHack have revealed twelve teams that have received a direct invite to participate at the LAN finals of DreamHack Masters: Malmö 2017. Participating at the event held in Sweden on August 30th - September 3rd will be the likes of SK Gaming, Astralis, Virtus.pro, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports and many more CS:GO teams that are held in high esteem by both fans and professionals alike. With a total of sixteen participants, four teams remain to be determined via regional qualifiers, available for the Asia-Oceania, Europe and North America. There will be a total of two European qualifier, hence offering two slots at the event.
