AnJ joins NRG Esports

The rifler will be taking on the NRG banner moving into future tournaments.

NRG announced earlier today that Allan 'AnJ' Jensen will be joining the team and replacing Derrick "LILMAN" Boyne. According to the announcement, NRG had been looking at AnJ since Copenhagen Games, finally picking him up earlier today. It was that and his attiude that General Manager, Derrick Truong said was key in his aquirement.

After speaking to Allan, we saw a player that has a great attitude and also has the hunger to win and constantly improve. We believe he will be an excellent teammate and will be able to make our team a lot stronger moving forward.

AnJ most recently was on Team Singularity, where he helped the squad clinch first place at Copenhagen Games 2017. He also helped Singularity claim first in Hellcase Cup #4, second in CEVO Season 12 - Europe Main and second overall in Danish Championship 2017.

NRG included a statement from the Danish player in the official announcement who stated that his transfer to NRG is a "dream come true".

I would to thank Singularity for the time we’ve spent together since October last year. We have grown together and we all find ourselves elevated to new heights from where we started. I would also like to thank them for allowing me to spend my time on the bench to talk to NRG. The past month have consisted of several offers but none that peeked my interest like NRG, and after talks with both management and players I’m extremely happy to have been given the chance to play for this organisation. This move is a dream come true, getting to play with and against players I’ve looked up to for so long is just amazing. I can’t wait to get started and working with the team!

NRG was able to take 11th-12th place in ESL Pro League Season 5, tying with Cloud9. Most recently, the team earned seventh place in the Esports Championship Series (ECS) Season 3. Because of their performance, they have automatically qualified for ECS Season 4.

NRG now have the following roster:

United States Peter "ptr" Gurney
United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
United States Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
Canada Damian "daps" Steele
Denmark Allan "AnJ" Jensen
