PENTA Sports secure first place at ESEA Season 24 Global Challenge LAN finals

PENTA Sports overcome BIG in the grand final of the ESEA Season 24 Global Challenge LAN finals, securing the Champions title, coupled with an $18,000 cash prize.

Europe PENTA Sports secured first place at the ESEA Season 24 Global Challenge LAN finals after defeating Germany BIG in the grand final. As a result of their first place finish, the team secured $18,000 in prize money, the largest cash sum the team has won over the course of the organisation's existence. 

Regarding their performance, PENTA Sports were consistently on top of their game, which was initially demonstrated in their group stage run, where the team had a spotless 2-0 match record, taking down United States Enigma6 16:12 on de_Mirage, followed by a a 16:11 against Australia Dark Sided on de_Cache. This meant that PENTA had the top seed of the group, cementing their placement in the semi-finals. Come play-offs the team first faced United States Splyce. The best-of-three saw but two maps played out, as the European mix was able to overcome the North American representatives 16:9 on de_Overpass, followed by a 16:11 finisher on de_Inferno. In the grand final PENTA faced the German side of BIG, who brought a bit of fight to the melee, however were unable to secure a single map victory against the EU mix. Both maps went to double digits, but in the end suNny and co. outshined the Germans, grabbing de_Cache and de_Inferno with a 16:13 and 16:12 score line, respectively.
