In last year's iteration of ESL One: Cologne, North did not exist, however the core roster represented Team Dignitas at the time. The team saw a bottom eight finish, unfortunately unable to secure the Legends title and hence a placement at the ELEAGUE Major. Nevertheless the team received an invite to the main qualifiers for the Major Championship that took place in January 2017, subsequently securing a placement and Legend status thanks to a top eight finish.
