Team Spirit announced the departure of Anton "kibaken" Kolesnikov.
Team Spirit announced their first roster change after signing the former Arcade roster which happened in June 2016. Fielding well-known players such as Vadim "DavCost" Vasilyev from the CIS region, the first couple of months under the Spirit tag brought success to the Russian-Ukrainian line-up. During that period, Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko's team won several minor tournaments including the Betway Invitational and GO: Champions League Season 4.
The CIS-based team even went on to secure second place at the CIS Minor for the ELEAGUE Major, but their failure to qualify to the Major marked the beginning of disappointing results. Spirit failed to qualify for international tournaments, facing elimination against Playing Ducks, PikgiffeN which would be regarded as underdogs against DavCost's squad.
According to the announcement, the team felt the need to make a change and as a result, Anton "kibaken" Kolesnikov has been released. Spirit will be trying replacements for kibaken in the following weeks, hoping to find a suitable player who could help the team achieve their main goal which is to qualify for the next Major as Team Manager, Ruslan Burgin stated.
Spirit are currently competing in the ESEA Premier Season 24 and HellCase Cup #3 and have the chance to produce strong finishes in them, as they will be facing Kinguin at HellCase Cup Group B tomorrow, March 31st. A win against the Poles will secure Spirit and advancement to the semi-finals of the tournament. On the other hand, they can grab fifth place in ESEA Premier with ten victories in sixteen matches.
