compLexity Gaming trial Alec "Slemmy" White

The former Cloud9 and Selfless Gaming player, Alec "Slemmy" White, joins the struggling North American team as in-game leader.

Struggling compLexitt Gaming have added former Selfless Gaming pro Alec "Slemmy" White to their Counter-Strike roster in what is the latest in a long string of attempts to turn their fortunes around. White, who made his name whilst on the Cloud9 squad, is being brought in to provide direction to what is a fairly rudderless team, with team owner Jason Lake stating on Twitter that he hopes ‘[Slemmy’s] leadership can right the ship’.

There is obviously some degree of pressure on White, who lost his place in Cloud9 when Timotyhy "autimatic" Ta came up, is no longer regarded as one of the best North American players. However, with the trial seemingly based around his ability to provide direction and leadership to the team, rather than his pure kill power, White could still have a positive impact on a team that really isn’t performing at present.

CompLexity started the year ranked 34 according to HLTV, and have hit a low of 49 in the weeks since. They currently sit at 39th, and finished in 13th-16th at DreamHack Vegas to make almost no mark on that event at all. This is their third change of the year, having already dispensed with the services of Michael "Uber" Stapells and Cory "APE" Bate, and they will no doubt be hoping it is the one that finally makes the difference.

CompLexity now field the following roster:

United Kingdom Rory "dephh" Jakcson
United Kingdom Kia "Surreal" Man
Canada Bradley "android-x23" Fodor
United States Derek "desi" Branchen
United States Alec "Slemmy" White
