The Frenchmen of G2 Esports and Team EnVyUs have received direct invites to DreamHack ASTRO Open: Tours 2017.
G2 Esports and Team EnVyUs have received direct invites to DreamHack ASTRO Open: Tours 2017. The French teams are the first two to be announced as participants at the $100,000 prize pool event to be held in Tours, France at the start of May. To be precise, the LAN portion of the event will be held on May 6th-8th, with group stages taking place slightly earlier. Formatting for the event will see a best-of-one group stage, followed by best-of-three deciders. The playoffs will feature best-of-three, single-elimination matches exclusively, including the grand final.
Below you will find the distribution of the prize pool:
1st place - $50,000
2nd place - $20,000
3rd & 4th places - $10,000
5th & 6th places - $3,000
7th & 8th places - $2,000
In the near future an additional four teams will be announced to receive direct invites, whilst two others will have to secure their placements via two qualifiers - one for European teams and one for North American ones. A total of eight teams will joust it out during the course of the tournament finals, with the stoic few making it into the playoffs. Following is a table containing the currently known participants:
