First qualifier for ECS Development League ended

The first of the two qualifier rounds for ECS Development League ended with surprising results from the North America region.

Teams from Europe and North America played in the ECS Development League qualifiers last week. The qualifier was one of the two rounds planned and offered two ECS Development League spots for each region. The successful teams will have the chance to play in the lower division of ECS leagues in order to secure for the main league, Esports Championship Series.

In Europe, unsurprisingly PRIDE took one of the two spots with their new lineup featuring Jacek "MINISE" Jeziak and Maciek "Luz" Bugaj. The second qualified team, however, was a bit surprising. Kazakhstan side Tengri finished above teams such as Epsilon and Rogue to qualify for ECS Development League.

But the biggest surprise came from North America. Two lower tier teams, Bee's Money Crew and Premier Rejects, qualified by beating stronger teams Splyce and Miami Flamingos respectively in the semi-finals.

The qualifiers for ECS Development League will continue this weekend, on February 25-26. Interested parties can register for the European and North American qualifiers by clicking the links.
