Americas Minor Championship - Closed qualifier groups decided

Muffin Lightning finalise the list of teams participating at the closed qualifier for the Americas Minor Championship after defeating compLexity Gaming.

Both open qualifiers for the Americas Minor Championship have concluded, deciding four teams that will be joining four invitees facing each other in the closed finals. The eight teams will battle in attempt to secure the four slots at the LAN finals of the Americas Minor, hosted by ELEAGUE in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The top two teams of the Americas Minor will secure $30,000 and $15,000 respectively, along with tickets to the major qualifier for the ELEAGUE Major 2017 taking place in January.

The first qualifier saw Selfless Gaming and Splyce emerge victorious over paiN Gaming and compLexity Gaming respectively, where the Brazilian roster of paiN was able to secure a single map over their opponents, whilst compLexity were not able to produce a single map against Splyce.

As for the second qualifier, Muffin Lightning secured a victory over compLexity Gaming, who were unfortunately defeated for a second time with a 2:1 map score in favour of the prior. PaiN Gaming had also returned for the second qualifier, where the team won their round of eight match by default, as their opponents - RONIN, were unable to produce a full roster line-up. PaiN then went on to secure a 2:1 map victory against Vault, landing the team a spot in the closed qualifier.
