Dreamhack has announced their Open series of tournaments will continue in 2017: find out the details after the jump.
Dreamhack will be taking their Open series into its sixth straight year following today's announcement of the nine-event lineup the organization has slated for the coming year. The events, spread across Europe and North America, will each feature a hefty $100,000 prize pot and eight slots for teams, and will follow the formats seen at previous open events.
Each tournament will recieve six invited teams with the two remaining slots being awarded to the winners of the NA and EU qualifiers for each tournament, while some select events will have only five invites and a "wildcard" team selected by Dreamhack. With each event spread over three days, the tournaments will feature a double elimination bracket group stage with teams split into two groups of four. Two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, which will be played out in a single elimination bracket.
