The qualifiers for Alibaba's CS:GO Tournament are now underway.
The World Electronic Sports Games championship announced earlier this year by Alibaba's eSports have today formally shared the dates for the opening of their American qualifiers. StarLadder and ImbaTV have also partnered together to open these Regional Qualifiers where 12 of the NA's best teams will be selected for the WESG Regional Finals where they will be battling for ?500,000 as well as 6 tickets to the WESG Global Grand Finals.
The Regional Finals of the Qualifiying Stage will take place in Sao Paolo from October 21-23.
The breakdown of the prize pool of WESG Regional Qualifiers in the America region looks as follows:
1st place — ?200,000 (~$30,000) + slot at the WESG Global Grand Finals
2nd place — ?120,000 (~$18,000) + slot at the WESG Global Grand Finals
3rd place — ?60,000 (~$9,000) + slot at the WESG Global Grand Finals
4th place — ?40,000 (~$6,000) + slot at the WESG Global Grand Finals
5th place — ?20,000 (~$3,000) + slot at the WESG Global Grand Finals
6th place — ?20,000 (~$3,000) + slot at the WESG Global Grand Finals
7th place — ?20,000 (~$3,000)
8th place — ?20,000 (~$3,000)
