WESA announce formation of player council

WESA have announced a player council composed of professional CS:GO players from WESA-affiliated teams, as well as a Council Chairman in form of Fnatic's Team Manager, Viktor "vuggo" Jendeby.?

WESA have announced the formation of a player council, composed of individuals picked by the represented teams. Seven individuals from Fnatic, Team EnVyUs, Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 Esports, Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere and mousesports were selected to advocate on behalf of all professional players under the WESA organisation with the main aim of "empowering players when it comes to a wide range of decision-making in regards to tournaments operated under WESA regulations."

Executive Chairman and Commissioner of WESA, Ken Hershman stated:

I am thrilled that the Players Council has been formed and that there are so many top players willing to take an active role in helping shape this burgeoning industry,” said Ken Hershman, Executive Chairman and Commissioner of WESA. “I have maintained that transparency in everything that WESA is doing is critical to its success, and giving the players a seat at the table is an important step in fulfilling that promise. I am confident that under the leadership of Viktor, the players will now be able to actively contribute to helping esports continue to develop.”

Below is a list of all elected representatives present on the council:

•  G2 Esports - Jérôme Sudries (Manager)
•  mousesports - Chris "chrisJ" de Jong
•  Natus Vincere - Sergey "starix" Ischuk
•  Ninjas in Pyjamas - Adam "friberg" Friberg
•  Virtus.pro - Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas
•  Team EnVyUs - Nathan "NBK" Schmitt
•  Fnatic - Viktor "vuggo" Jendeby (Team Manager)

Representative of Fnatic, Viktor "vuggo" Jendeby was also selected as Council Chaiman in unanimous fashion. Jendeby will represent both the council's and players' interests on the executive board of WESA. After being elected Council Chairman, "vuggo" had the following to say:

I was honored to be elected by my team to represent their interests within WESA, as well as my competitive peers to serve as the Chairman of the Players Council,” said Jendeby. “I’m looking forward to work with Commissioner Hershman and the fellow Executive Board members to ensure all players in WESA get the representation they deserve.”
