Controversial skin betting site CSGOShuffle was shut down last week, but new logs reveal millions of dollars made by owners.
As the world turns, there is an ever-growing mountain of evidence against certain individuals in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community, with much of it seemingly in the hands of Richard Lewis. The former Breitbart and current Turner Sports employee released another video this week, revealing details of conversations between a backend developer on the controversial CSGOShuffle site and prominent scene gambler ‘cAre’.
In the video, more details about the scale of the operation are revealed, with millions' of dollars worth of skins discussed and a figure of $960k also mentioned as money/skins stored on the OPSkins site. One comment from cAre in that section states, ‘so we made a lil bit less than 3m since the beginning’, which becomes even more interesting when put in the context of James ‘PhantomLord’ Varga apparently going AWOL since this story broke.
Whether that money is accounted for will become clear in due time, but with Varga not available on social media and his Twitch channel closed it may be of some concern to those who shared assets with the former streaming star. Both Varga and his girlfriend Victoria ‘Dinglederper’ Weeks have been silent on social media since July 16th, while cAre himself shut up shop there the day before, on July 15th.
It's clear that Varga was the man holding the purse strings, with the logs showing he sent $50k to both cAre and presumably Joris the back-end developer on the site, but what has become of the rest of the cash is obviously less clear. A message allegedly sent from cAre to Weeks and posted online suggests the Frenchman believed he would be sent €250k as well, or at least was due to be, although GosuGamers cannot confirm the authenticity of that exchange at this time.
