IEM: Katowice 2016 - North American qualifiers

The North American qualifiers for the upcoming IEM: Katowice have reached the quarter-finals stage.?

Yesteday saw the North American qualifiers being played out, with quite a few well-known teams drop out of the race. The day concluded at the quarter-finals, where Cloud9 vs. Day Dreamers, Enemy vs. OpTiC Gaming, Team Liquid vs. Tempo Storm and Mild vs. Counter Logic Gaming were the only remaining matchups.

Suprisingly, two fairly unknown teams have made it through, leaving teams such as Splyce, NRG eSports, compLexity, Winterfox and Team AGG in the dust. Splyce made it through to the third round of the qualifiers, just to be knocked out by Day Dreamers 16:13 on de_cache, for a spot in the quarter-finals. NRG eSports, headed by Fatih ''gob b'' Dayik, were disappointingly overpowered by Sofa King Good 16:13 on cache, in the second round of matches.

compLexity Gaming were fairly successful, pushing their way through to the third round of matches, where they played against recently formed Tempo Storm (ex-Games Academy) and lost 16:13, throwing away their chances at the quarter-finals of the qualifiers. Winterfox showed a very disappointing run, where they only managed to go as far as the second round of matches, losing to Team Rosa, with a 16:14 score on de_cache. Finally, Kyle ''ocean'' O'Brien's Team AGG was knocked out in the third round of matches, losing 16:12 to Mild, a team that proceeded to the quater-finals of the qualifiers.
